French Revolution Essay

Crafting an essay on the French Revolution is a formidable task that requires a deep understanding
of historical events, political ideologies, and social dynamics. The complexity of this topic lies in its
multifaceted nature, encompassing a wide array of interconnected factors such as economic
disparities, Enlightenment ideas, and the struggle for political power. Tackling the French Revolution
in an essay demands thorough research, analytical thinking, and the ability to synthesize vast
amounts of information.

One of the challenges is navigating through the myriad of events and personalities that shaped this
revolutionary period. From the Estates General to the Reign of Terror, every phase has its own
significance, and elucidating the causal relationships between them requires a meticulous approach.
Moreover, understanding the ideological underpinnings, such as the influence of Enlightenment
thinkers like Rousseau and Voltaire, adds another layer of complexity.

The French Revolution was not just a political upheaval; it was a social and cultural transformation
that reshaped the fabric of French society. Addressing the socio-economic grievances of different
classes, the emergence of revolutionary factions, and the impact on ordinary citizens requires a
nuanced analysis. Additionally, exploring the international repercussions and the long-term effects of
the revolution on France and the world adds further intricacy to the essay.

Balancing objectivity while discussing the violence and radicalism of the revolution poses another
challenge. A thorough examination of the Reign of Terror, the execution of King Louis XVI, and the
rise of radical political factions necessitates a delicate handling of sensitive historical moments.

In conclusion, writing an essay on the French Revolution demands not only a comprehensive
knowledge of historical facts but also the ability to connect disparate elements into a cohesive
narrative. It requires critical thinking, research skills, and a nuanced understanding of the socio-
political landscape of the time. Despite its challenges, delving into the complexities of the French
Revolution can be intellectually rewarding, providing insights into one of the most pivotal periods in
history.

Voucher Proposal
Growing up with Mexican parents, it was difficult to break free from the shackles of
religion they pressured onto me. Before, I would take all of their religious teachings as
absolute truths, but with access to the internet I poke holes into my beliefs. I now
identify as nonreligious, primarily because when I look around at my family, they pray
to a higher power to get them a desirable outcome, sometimes forgetting they are in
charge of their future. I see my peers losing faithin themselves and placing it all into a

For my fellow secular taxpayers, this is an undue burden that should not exist. More
importantly, the funds used to pay for the voucher program could be going to our
public school system which is currently in shambles. Nevada is ranked 50th in
education, it is absurd to think that our public school system could lose even more
funds. Having gone through the public school system myself, I have the credentials to
say that it could use improvements; most importantly the pay and environment teachers
are given to teach. For this voucher program, that violates the separation of church and
state, to take away money from an already sinking ship, is preposterous. Moreover, I
am passionate about helping those in need; in my community there is an issue with the
amount of homeless people we have. The homeless shelters do not provide enough for
these people, and I would just like to see a secular group volunteering their time to aid
those in need, and help them get on their feet through hard work and dedication, not
through reading Bible verses to them and promising all will be well if they obey
The Positive Effects Of Retainment
There have been many studies performed in recent years over the effects of retainment.
The reasoning behind why a student is being retained can be a big deciding factor on
whether it will end with success or not. When a child is behind their peers because of
age or numerous absences, retainment is an option for them. At an older level, kids have
a higher rate of success than those who have been retained (Davis School District, 2011).
When repeating a grade, they can have success the next year, and can gain more
confidence. However, retainment works best for students when at a young, lower
elementary age. Research has shown that retaining a studentcan often point them in a
negative direction. Students can experience bad impacts in all areas
Arguments Against Government Surveillance
Government surveillance protects citizens in countless ways, even though many do not
even realize its importance. It is known by many American citizens that they are possibly
under surveillance, but most do not realize that it could be for their own good. The
government has the right to view citizens through their technology because it will keep
them safe from potential threats. Although surveillancecan possess many benefits for
citizens, some claim that the governmentdoes not have the right to watch its citizens
through technology because few citizens are a threat and it would reduce the citizen s
privacy. According to Pew Research Center, Those who are aware of the government
surveillance programs say they are becoming increasingly... Show more content on

Home grown terror requires the collection of U.S. citizens conversations (Sulmasy). This
means that conversations between innocent people must be monitored in order to protect
Americans. Surveillance is important and useful to the public for its influence in the
greater risk of catching criminals, law abiding citizens feeling safer, and the possibility
of recorded footage helping investigations and prosecutions ( Understanding the Benefits
of Security and Surveillance. ). For this reason, many citizens feel safer knowing that
government surveillance is watching and catching criminals, they don t feel dissatisfied
about a loss of privacy, because they know it is for their own benefit and security. The
number of attacks and crimes that could be prevented is limitless, and the country would
