    After watching the videos on lobotomy and the treatment of those with mental
    illnesses and after reading chapter 1, I definitely have some mixed reactions. First, I
    thought the videos were very fascinating but also very hard to watch and very
    disheartening. It s amazing to see how the treatment of those suffering from mental
    illnesses has improved in recent years, but it s also unbelievable that some treatments
    were ever used. I am not a doctor and do not have any medical training, but it s hard to
    believe that making people have seizures and go into a coma was a beneficial way to
    treat mental illnesses. It s also hard to wrap my mind around the fact that someone would
    ever intentionally put something into someone s brain to lessen the brain s
