Medical Benefits Of Medical Marijuana
Jacqueline Patterson was born with cerebral palsy. This condition makes her experience
stuttering, crippling pain, and muscle imbalance. She has four children and was living in
Kansas City, Missouri. Now she lives in California, where a judge determined that her
cannabis use is medically necessary to ease her symptoms (Price, In Pot We Trust).
Cannabisuse for medical purposes and the relief of various symptoms has been around
since before recorded history as the National Institute on Drug Abuse notes that, The
earliest written reference is found in the 15th century BC Chinese Pharmacopeia, the Rh
Ya. While cannabis can be used for recreational purposes, recent research and history
provide evidence to its medical benefits (Procon.org, 2017). While the Chinese
Pharmacopeia may not have understood the science behind medical benefits of cannabis
on certain ailments, it provides a historical background into the use of medicinal
cannabis. WebMD defines medical cannabis(or medical marijuana) as, A drug that is
made up of the leaves, flowers, and buds of the hemp plant Cannabis sativa. Medical
marijuana is the use of this drug to help treat symptoms like pain, muscle stiffness
(spasticity), nausea, and lack of appetite. (WebMD, 2017) This definition provides us
with a basis for what can be considered medical cannabis and what a doctor can
prescribe legally. As with any other drugs like opioids, cannabis can be abused and it is
important that we distinguish what can be used
Reflective Essay About My Truth
My theme is basic to baddie, I really I wanted to present my project because It was
coming out really well. I was doing a documentary, filming my story and had visuals
and music. Since i m not able to because there s not enough space to squeeze me in, I
ve decided to settle for an essay but not a traditional one. This is my story, My Truth, it
s what makes me the person I am today. So let s get started. In the beginning or in my
case the middle, eighth gradewasn t for me. I just don t wanna relive the way I felt. All
through 8th grade I felt insecure, ugly, weird, and stupid in every aspect but I came in
the first day of school like a brand new person. I thought I could fake it till I made it , and
that s exactly what I did. Little did... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I started to suppress my feelings again and focusing on drama which was the way to
quench that thirst of regret. I hanged out with a group of girls that weren t necessarily
healthy for me at the time. They obsessed over things like drama and shenanigans. At
the time I enjoyed a good laugh, heck I still do. That lead to nothing but trouble and
my grades were really bad I mean I had 50 s in most of my classes honestly I don t even
know I how made it out freshman year.
Tenth grade I was feed up with the bs. My friends from 9th grade were starting drama
with me. I should ve know that it would of happened and I just wanted a fresh new
start. In the summer my mom had plans of moving to croton because she was a little
fed up with peekskill herself. I definitely provoked my mom to move. When I moved I
went to a new school district Hendrick Hudson High School. My life definitely changed
forever. I was surrounded by majority white people and I was a black kid that liked
boys making me very nervous and anxious. When I got there I started to hang out with
this girl. Her name was Ashley and she definitely helped me figure out what I really
wanted. I began to wear female clothing and posting pictures online. One day my mom
had caught me wearing a crop top and tight sweatpants which she found provocative.
She then looked at me odd snapping a picture of me. I started to cry feeling worthless
and unexpected by my mom and aslo the world which was not true. She then told me to
Unknown Mixtures Lab Report
Background:
Mixtures are combinations pure substances, thus their physical properties depend on their
composition. Physical properties of a pure substance include solubility, conductivity, and
magnetism. By exploiting unique properties of mixtures, it is possible to divide the
mixture into its components. This is done by physical change, such as filtration,
evaporation, and crystallization.

Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to study the physical properties of salt, sand,
and iron and use this information to design and carry out a separation of an unknown
mixture. The mass percentage composition of the mixture can be calculated from the
masses of the recovered components.

Materials:
Iron Fillings ( Fe)
Salt (NaCl)
Sand (SiO2)

Iron is magnetic. In our lab, when we ran a magnet through the mystery mix, the iron
jumped out from the mix and clug to the magnet. We were able to sort out all of the iron
using a magnet.
Magnetism is a physical property. The chemical make up stays the same. If it were a
chemical property, bonds would break: the the makeup of the material would change, but
that was not the case. The iron in our lab stayed the same.

5. The combination of salt and sand is a mixture. It is a physical combination with no

fixed ratio. If it were a compound, it would be a chemical combined elements in fixed
ratios that could be separated chemically only. In our lab, we were able to separate the
different substances using magnets, filters, and water, nothing chemical we used
physical properties.

6. In our lab, when we carried out the process of filtration, the sand remained on the filter
paper. The filtrate is not a pure substance. We mixed water into the mixture and the salt
dissolved that was our filtrate. Therefore, the filtrate contains both water and salt, A pure
substance is not mixed, the entire sample is the same. Our filtrate was mixed. A
homogenous mixture because there was no observable
