Let's start with my educational background, I completed my Class X with 80% followed by
Class XII in Science Stream with 79% respectively both under the CBSE board.
I liked tech magazines such as Digit, PC World, etc., and therefore started learning about
computers and their working from these small magazines available in school. I liked the
troubleshooting part more and hence, used it to help people by solving their minor issues with
hardware and operating system which allowed me to learn faster. To get a better
understanding of this field of IT, I pursued B.Sc(IT) along with a Diploma in Software
Engineering. I was always fascinated by how the computer was able to do so many wonderful
things and how it integrated itself into every aspect of our life and therefore went on to
pursue MCA as well.
This college has a renowned history of producing great alumni who have proved their mettle
equally in Academics and Industry as well. With all the learned Professors and state-of-the-
art resources, this college has surely quenched the thirst of many candidates who wish to
pursue their career in research programs and these reasons were solid enough for me to apply
for this Master's Program in Computer Science.
Over all these years of study, I learned technologies like C, C++, Data Structures,
Algorithms, C#, .NET, Java, MS-SQL Server, etc. The knowledge that I had gathered over
my years of study in graduation and post-graduation made me even more curious about this
ever-changing space of Computer Science.
After my graduation, I got the chance of working with Tata Consultancy Services. I was
deputed at TCS, Guwahati, and had worked in their iON project wherein I headed a team of 3
people who were responsible for conducting major online examinations like GATE, CBSE
JEE, etc. in a smooth and hassle-free manner. I also got an opportunity to work as a Faculty
in a private Computer Institute where in I taught courses like Database Management Systems,
Programming and Data Structures in C, .NET, Software Engineering, etc. Over the years I
grew as a person and found that Computer Science has many specific areas dealing with
specific applications and hence, I needed to target a specific area and enhance my knowledge
in that.
I am a self-learner with an inclination toward web development. I learned PHP, MySQL
using LAMP stack with the help of online resources and video tutorials. The list of projects is
as follows:
1) A website for a Government Institute using PHP and MySQL

2) A complete Inventory Management System named “DeskPro” for a Mobile Vendor which
takes care of Stocks, Sales, Ledger, etc., using .NET and MS-SQL Server.
3) A website for a Car Rental Company (https://www.cabzone.in) using WordPress.
4) A website for Government College (https://www.bvec.ac.in)
I have worked in different organizations of varying repute such as the State Bank of India
(the largest Public Sector Bank), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (A Maharatna
Company under Govt. of India), Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tata Consultancy Services, etc., and
have gathered experience by working in different roles, environments and under different
conditions. I will surely be able to use all of my experience in the area of my research.
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Fashion

Technology in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Recently, in the last few years, Machine Learning
(ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Artificial Intelligence have grown by leaps and bounds. I
wanted to learn ML and therefore I completed an online Certificate Course in Data Science
which gave me a moderate understanding of the working of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit Library
and ML algorithms. To solidify my understanding, I participated in various Kaggle
Competitions. In one of the competitions, we were supposed to classify 16 categories of
images from a dataset of 20000 images. I was not able to finish it but was amazed by the fact
that there are models available which can classify images with close to human-level accuracy.
However, I learned about another subfield of ML known as Deep Learning. Currently, I am
learning about Deep Learning through the online portal CourseEra and following the Video
Course on Deep Learning by Mr. Mitesh Khapra, IIT Madras available at NPTEL.
I need to get a comprehensive and detailed understanding of how Deep Learning works. I am
interested in doing research in the field of Precision Farming. I will surely be able to learn all
these advanced topics with the guidance and support provided by the faculty members of this
institute by gradually going through the coursework available in the Master's program. I will
continue enhancing my knowledge and apply them in the projects that will be given to me
throughout the program. Completion of this course surely will enhance my reasoning, logical
and critical thinking and would enable me to share this knowledge with society in the better,
more efficient, and most significant way possible. I hope to see myself being a part of this IIT
and a step closer to achieving my goal.
