SUMMARY
The film Behind the Blackboard is about a young woman who is looking for a job as a teacher, so
she takes her resume to the director of the schools in that town, and he, despite knowing her
inexperience due to being a recent graduate, assigns her a place to teach classes and start
practicing your profession. However, this place was not what Stacy Bess dreamed or expected; It
is a shelter in which there is a room in very poor condition that is used as a classroom for the
children of that shelter. Those children with poor education, bad habits, rebellious and
disobedient, added to the precarious conditions of that place made Stacy’s first days frustrating,
desperate and made her feel disappointed. Furthermore, the parents of these children were also
people who did not give good examples to their children, since some were drunks, others drug
addicts and had bad behavior, which did not contribute to the education of their children, making
the teacher’s work much more difficult. Harder and more difficult.
However, over the days Satcy, thanks to the love he feels for what he does, little by little he gained
the affection of those children and the trust of them and their parents, and in view of the poor
conditions and needs of that place , for which he could not find answers from the school
authorities, decides to use his own resources to improve his workplace and provide these children
with a better education; So she spruced up the room by painting it, using new furniture, placing a
blackboard and decorating the place with colorful posters that would attract the attention of the
students. In addition to that, she brings each of them breakfast, since they arrived at school
without breakfast and therefore did not pay due attention to their classes; He was also in charge
of grooming them so that they could improve their physical appearance and in the meantime he
never gave up on continuing to seek the support of the school authorities who would provide them
with the help they needed, desks, books and other elements necessary to teach their classes
properly, until who achieved it and found the person who, after having heard the story of each
child and knowing the conditions of that place, was moved and decided to help them, providing
ten with books, chairs, materials, a piano and many other things that they were missing. so that
that space would be converted into a real classroom.
Subsequently, the teacher held a parents’ meeting for the first time to incorporate them into the
teaching process of their children, and due to her attitude that she did not mind working even
extra days of the week as long as the children were well. , the parents decided to help her and also
change their way of life for the good of their children.
Finally, due to her pregnancy, Stacy had to be absent from school for a while but everyone in that
place, although sad, was grateful to her for not having given up on her work there.
And for having made a difference by not only being able to teach classes but also by taking an
interest in the children, her parents and the community in general.

The film could show a somewhat exhausting context – people did not have much in mind about

sought to stay in one place without thinking about realizing themselves as people – for a teacher to
