II. Program Background and Rationale

School – based In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) of San


Pedro Elementary School is consistent with the procedures of the
School Based Management (SBM), and the school improvement Plan
(SIP), but this is more focus on the teaching – learning process. It is an
avenue for continues and effective in-service training for teachers’
development.
This School – based In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) will
provide an opportunity for teachers to sit together, review on some
specific instructional concerns and discuss on topics that can solve

everyday problems in the classroom. This will also serve as a support
to the teachers in some innovative practices that would
enhance their skills and competencies. Teachers will be equipped
with the necessary teaching strategies and techniques in developing
the children literacy and numeracy skills and attitude.
The education sector is facing big challenges of coping up from
the pandemic. Thus, training teachers has never been more
imperative than now. This In-service Training is hoped to be
one of the most promising avenues to improve instruction.

III. Program Description

This training will commence three (3) days in a school-based


training. Throughout the three-day training, the thirteen (13) teachers,
one (1) non-teaching and twelve (12) teaching shall be in school to
ensure their focused attention to the training inputs. They shall be
accommodated in the Grade Six classroom. A large TV screen and
sound system shall be provided.

IV. Target Learners’ Description

The participants are merely an elementary school teacher who


needs to freshen-up with the departments policies and guidelines to
achieve best outputs for the learners as well as the institution.

V. Workplace Development Objectives (WDO)

Taking part in this INSET tailored for teachers to gain an outlook on


best practices and concrete ways to use in empowering and
supporting education for the best they can be. Through a hands-on
approach the participants will discuss and exchange best practices
and reflect together how to use them in education and in the
teaching-learning process.

VI. Program Learning Objectives

TERMINAL OBJECTIVE:
• Provide assistance to educators of San Pedro Elementary
School in facilitating better communication between the
learners to achieve better results.

ENABLING OBJECTIVES:
• Familiarize the best practices in enhancing the reading and
numeracy skills of the learners.
• Integrate the innovative practices for teaching and learning
process
• Equipped with the different approaches in handling and
dealing different learners

VII. Workplace Application Project or Job-Embedded Learning

With the competencies gained from this training, upskilled


participants will be ready in meeting the demands of the co-workers,
learners, parents, community, and other stakeholders in accordance
with the mandates of DepEd. They’ll have a clear understanding of
step-by-step activities to be undertaken during catch-up Fridays and
perform duties as facilitators of learning with respect to child’s policies
set by the department.
