The Book
When her mum finally got home she found out and grounded Katie and took all her devices
off her for a while until she started acting better. Katie was so mad and stomped up to her
room and slammed the door. She was very bored and had nothing to do so she decided to
clean her room. She was clearing out her cupboard and putting the stuff she didn’t want
into the bin. Then she saw the book and she decided she wanted to keep it so she set it on
her bedside table. That night she decided she was going to give it a go and read a bit of it.
She started reading and she found it quite interesting. The girl in the book was called Anna.
Katie got to a bit of the book where Anna’s parents got divorced. Just like Anna Katie’s
parents were also divorced. That night Katie was very tired but she couldn’t sleep so she
read the book. In the book Anna’s mum took Anna out for ice cream. All Katie could think
about was ice cream but it was 11:00 pm so she wouldn’t be able to get it until the next day.
They had been acting nicer to each other and that was good. Katie had finally got her
devices back but she wasn’t too attached to them. A few strange things were happening like
she would read something in the book and it would happen in real life. Katie was very
confused but just went on thinking it was just a coincidence. Then things started getting
more strange like Anna would go pier jumping then Katie would. When it got to the point
were Anna moved to a different town and a few days later her mum announced she was
moving to a different town that’s when Anna knew something was very weird.
A few weeks later at Christmas, Katie and her family were playing a game were they
confessed things they did. It was Katie’s turn and Katie confessed that she cracked her
mums phone when she was six. “I knew it was you,” said Katie’s mum.
It was now Katie’s mums turn. “I’m sorry to say this Katie but I saw the book in your
cupboard and I realised I had read it when I was little and I thought it was kind of your life. I
had already been thinking about moving to a different town and I thought it would be quite
fun to make it even more like your life,” said Katie’s mum.
“Thank god it was you I was starting to get worried. Also it’s ok mum it was really fun when
you bought lots of ice cream, I loved it!”.
