Teaching Dates and Time: NOVEMBER 20, 2023 (Monday) Quarter: 1st Quarter
Sun-1:00 AM- 2:00 PM

I. WEEKLY OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard
 The learners demonstrate an understanding of the relationship among the
locations of volcanoes, earthquake epicenters, and mountain ranges.

B. Learning Competency
 Describe the different types of plate boundaries (S10ES – Ia-j-36.2)

C. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, at least 80% of the students should be able to:

1. Identify the properties of solutions;

2. Describe the observable characteristics or properties of common solutions through
series of experimentation;
3. Value the significance of learning solutions, its properties, and its examples.

II. CONTENT: PROPERTIES OF SOLUTIONS

A. Teaching Strategy
 Carousel, Discovery Approach, Integrative and Collaborative Technique
III. LEARNING RESOURCES:
 Science Book, Self-Learning Modules

A. References
1. Teacher's Guide pages: pp.5-8
2. Learner's Material's pages: pp. 8-11

B. Other Learning Resources: Laptop, TV, Power Point Presentation, Materials for
the Activities

IV. PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Response

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES

 Opening Prayer

“Let us have first our opening prayer to be led to us “Let us bow down our heads and feel
by ________________.” the presence of the Lord as we say…

“How are you today?”
“We’re doing great, Sir!”
“Good to know! Let us clap our hands for this
another wonderful day that the Lord has given us.”
(The students will clap their hands.)

 Classroom Management/Setting of
Guidelines

“At the count of five, kindly pick up pieces of paper

or trash that you can see near you. Also, arrange (The students will pick up pieces of
your chairs properly before taking your seats. Now, paper, arrange their chairs, and sit
sit properly.” properly.)

“Is everybody already settled?”

“Yes, Ma’am.”
“In order for us to be able to have a meaningful
learning today most especially that you will be
working by groups, remember this word GROUPS (The students will read and remember
which stands for: the word GROUPS.)
G: Give thoughtful feedbacks
R: Respect others and their ideas
O: On task all the time and their ideas
U: Use soft voice when speaking
P: Participate actively and equally.
S: Stay focused while enjoying the tasks.”

 Checking of Attendance

“Now, I’ll be checking your attendance. Kindly say

the name of your classmate/s who is/are not around (The students will be stating the names
today.” of their classmates who are not around
for today.)

“Yes, Sir!”

(The students will go and sit in their

respective group.)
B. USING 4A’s INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL

I. ACTIVITY

Now, let’s play a game. Let’s call this game Picture (The students will be answering based
Puzzle. I will group you into three groups. on their own idea.)

Do you understand?

(The students will be listening to the

teacher’s instructions.)

“Yes, Ma’am!”

“Yes, Ma’am!

“Yes, Ma’am!”
(The students will then perform the
steps indicated in each station. They
will also answer the table then report
their output.)
(The learners will clap their hands.)

II. ANALYSIS

“Did you enjoy our activity?” “Yes, Ma’am!”

“Now, I will be giving you questions related to what (The students will listen.)
you did a while ago.

“These are the following:

How was the activity? Was it hard or just (The students will share what they felt
easy? after doing the activity.)

(The students will share their

the tasks?

What else have you observed? Are all the
mixtures considered as solutions? Why or why

idea.)
“Now that you have answered these process

questions, let us now proceed to knowing if what you
have answered are correct. Are you excited to learn
more?”

III. ABSTRACTION

“So again, what is our lesson for today?” “Properties of Solutions, Ma’am.”

“Very good, class! Do you still remember the other “Homogeneous Mixture, Ma’am!”
name of Solution?”

Great! At this moment, I want Group number 2,

Group Number 3, and Group Number 4 to read each
description of the properties of solutions.”

(Group Number 2, 3, and 4 will read

the properties of a solution.)
“Thank you, Groups 2, 3 and 4.”

“With the mixtures’ set-ups you have made a while (The student-volunteers will come in
ago, let us identify if the mixture is a solution or not. front and explain based on what they

description of the solution you have read a while
ago.”

“Very good! You may take your seats. Before, we

proceed to another activity, here is the rubrics for
grading your group performance.”

IV. APPLICATION

“Now that you have known about the properties of (The students will listen.)
solutions, let us proceed to another group
game/activity entitled, “DROP, DRAG, DEFEND.”

“The group will pick a photo based on the clue/s I

will be DROPping. The phrase can either be in (The students will listen.)
English or Tagalog. When I say the word “DRAG”,
one member of the group will bring the photo and
show it in front of the class. Then, they will
“DEFEND” their answers of what makes it a
solution, and its importance for people in everyday
life.”

“Let’s have first a drilll. Are you excited?” “Yes, Ma’am!”

“This is an example: (The students must select the

for people in their lives.)

“Are you ready for the real game? Let the game (The students will participate.)

F. EVALUATION

“At this moment, let us have our evaluation entitled

YOU COMPLETE ME”. You will complete the (The students will listen.)
sentence with phrases you can see on the word box
about the observable properties of solutions.

1. Solutions are _____________________ mixtures

because it has only ____ phase of matter or it
is __________ in appearance. homogeneous solute uniform
2. The _______ cannot be separated from the
one filtration
solvent through ______________ because these
are so small that they pass through the filter
paper/cheesecloth or strainer.
Answers:

1. homogeneous, one, uniform

2. solute, filtration

G. ASSIGNMENT/REFLECTION

 “For your assignment/reflection, kindly fill

out your DAILY LEARNING LOG.”

(The students will fill out their Weekly

Learning Log.)
