He learned some wisdom from

them.

Summary
The book starts with the narrator sharing his childhood
memory about his fascination with boa constrictors and how
they digest their food. He drew this:
it was in fact a boa constrictor digesting an elephant. The
adults thought it was a drawing of a hat. He thought that
adults always need explanation and lack imagination. So, he
gave up his dream of being an artist and pursued aviation.
He recalled the time he crash landed in the sahara desert
with no one to help him. he was greeted by an extraordinary
young fella with a weird request.

Could you draw me

a sheep?
The narrator started drawing sheep
but they were not the ones the
little prince was looking for.

Finally the narrator drew a box with

3 holes on it and said “the sheep
you are looking for is inside."

That’s the sheep I

was looking for.
The pilot and the little prince became friends after that.

Just like you, I also came from the

skies…from a planet called
Asteroid B-612.
The little prince always used the sheep to stir up
conversations and to share a little bit of himself to the pilot.

in my planet. They start
small and end up like big
trees that could destroy
my planet.
When he asked if the sheep eat flowers, they talked about
why flowers needed to have thorns.

Thorns are just the

flower's way to be rude.
the pilot also learned that the little prince paid close attention
to a small sprout in his planet that appeared from nowhere. At
sunrise, this small sprout became a beautiful elegant rose.
the little prince couldn't contain his admiration and gave all
his love and care to this one rose on his small planet.
Even though the rose perfumed his planet and brought so much
joy to him, her vanity and demands made the little prince doubt
the sincerity of her love.

I am starting to feel I am sorry. I want you to know that I

lonely and unhappy love you, but it’s too late now. Don’t
here. I have to leave. worry about me. I’ll be fine on my
own.
The little prince travelled across the stars where he met
different grown-ups inhabiting their own planets. He gained
important pieces of wisdom from them.
Firstly, he met THE KING who liked to command and rule. the
little prince learned that what makes a leader good is by being
reasonable and that rulers usually make a big deal about the
power they have.
On the second planet, he met the
VAIN MAN who always likes to be
recognized, admired, and praised.
He learned that there are grown ups
who thought that the world only
revolves around them.
On the third planet, he met the
DRUNK MAN who always
drinks and always looks
miserable. The little prince
learned the convoluted logic
that grown-ups drink to forget
their shame, and that they are
ashamed that's why they drink.
On the fourth planet, he met
the very busy BUSINESSMAN
claiming he owns all the stars
because he counts them and
puts them on paper. He learned
that grown-ups are very
obsessed to own a lot of things
too quickly instead of owning a
few ones that truly matter to
them.
on the fifth planet he met the
LAMPLIGHTER whose only job was
to light the lamp at night and
extinguish the lamp at day. The
little prince admired him out of all
the other ones he met. He valued
the lamplighter's task as
something "beautiful" and "useful."
On the sixth planet, he met the narrow-minded GEOGRAPHER.
He listens only to "experts" and not to the “experienced.” The
prince learned that this grown-up is only interested with facts
but not real truths.

Sahara desert where
he met no one
except for a snake.

home yet. I’ll think
about it.
The little prince journeyed on and met several
characters that taught him the value of love and the
true meaning of happiness.

you have one rose
that truly matters
the most.
These were the things that happened to the little prince
before the pilot met him in the desert. On the eighth
day in the Sahara, they felt thirsty and looked for a well.
After finding the well,
they drank the water
and felt better. The pilot
appreciated the water
not because it had
quenched their thirst,
but because it was a
reward from their effort.
I landed near the well
and tomorrow is the
first anniversary of
my arrival. The pilot felt a strange feeling
of grief and dread. The pilot
shrugged it off and left the
little prince there as he went
back to fix the plane.
When the pilot came back the
next evening after successfully
fixing the plane, he saw the little
prince sitting on top of a ruined
stone wall and talking to a
snake. He became worried and
felt scared for the young boy.
Congratulations for fixing your plane.
But I, too, must leave tonight. I know
you understand. My star will just be
right above the place where I fell
tonight for my anniversary

Even though the pilot was hugging him tight, he felt

the prince drifting into the abyss without anything to
hold him back.
So, the next time you look up to the
stars, my planet will be one of them
up there. Among the billion of stars in
the universe, one planet mattered.

After thanking the pilot for such memorable time and

adventure, it was time to go. Something yellow
flashed close to the little prince’s ankle.
The prince fell gently....motionless....soundless.
The story ended with the pilot, after six years, being
able to console himself that the prince indeed has
returned to his planet.
It's all a great mystery...and
that if one imagines
whether the sheep has
eaten the flower in the little
prince's planet or not
makes all the difference.
"Anything essential is
invisible to the eyes."
“In case you travel some day to the African desert. And,
if you should come upon this spot, please do not hurry
on. Wait for a time, exactly under the star. Then, if a
little man appears who laughs, who has golden hair
and who refuses to answer questions, you will know
who he is.

If this should happen, please comfort me. Send me

word that he has come back.”
