for so many years. Both lost worlds' ruins differ from each other. However, there are also some similarities between the two. One of the obvious similarities between the lost world of Machu Picchu and Chichen Itza; both cities are ancient stone architecture. But, in Chichen Itza, there were fine carvings on the stones unlike in Machu Picchu where there were only stack of stones. The second similarity between the two lost worlds is; both cities are were abandoned long time ago. This is because of a theory that both cities were ruled by single-minded ruler- ruthless and and became too powerfull. Machu Picchu and Chichen Itza were two man-made wonders of the world. Both were made by the Mayans civillization. The most noted difference betweeen the lost world of Machu Picchu and the lost world of Chichen Itza is the location. Machu Picchu settled high up on the mountains, while Chichen Itza is located in a vast land amidst lush greenery. The second difference between the two are the method of water distribution. In Machu Pichu, water are supplied through systematic drain-like water channels. However, in Chichen Itza, the residents have to get water from a large well that is present near their city. Thirdly, sacrifices are practicised in Chichen Itza, but not in Machu Picchu. This can be proven by the presence of a temple-like sacrificing site in Chichen Itza. The fourth difference between the two lost worlds is the presence of a sports site in Chichen Itza. The sports ground in Chichen Itza was once a venue of deadly game played by the residents. Between both lost worlds, my favourite would be the lost world of Machu Picchu mainly because of the location of the city. Settled in the mountains, the city system is quite systematic such as the method of water distribution and the plantation terraces made around the city. I prefer Machu Picchu also because there are no sacrifices being done there, at least as reported.
