Introduction:
The Internet of Things (IoT) describes the network of physical objects—“things”—that
are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies for the purpose of
connecting and exchanging data with other devices and systems over the internet.
These devices range from ordinary household objects to sophisticated industrial tools.
With more than 7 billion connected IoT devices today, experts are expecting this
number to grow to 22 billion by 2025. IoT has become one of the most important
technologies of the 21st century as we can connect everyday objects—kitchen
appliances, cars, thermostats, baby monitors—to the internet via embedded devices,
seamless communication is possible between people, processes, and things. IoT is
ruling over various sectors and making the work effectible with respect to the
convenience of users in mind.
Rationale:
We conducted the survey to know about:
Importance and types of Internet Of Things
Awareness amongst people about internet in commercial sectors.
Precautions and risks to take while using these IOT.

History of IoT :-
The concept of IoT was first introduced in the 1980s when a group of researchers at
Carnegie Mellon University connected a Coca-Cola vending machine to the internet.
This machine was equipped with sensors that could detect the number of drinks, and
with this idea, they laid the foundation for an enormous amount of further
development. Kevin Ashton, MIT’s Executive Director of Auto-ID Labs, coined the
phrase “Internet of Things” in 1999. He was the first to describe the IoT, while
making a presentation for Procter & Gamble, but the definition of the IoT has evolved
over time.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi- These technologies enabled devices to communicate with each
other wirelessly, without the need for physical connections.
Security- IoT technologies are useful for security purpose by face recognition locks,
fingerprints, cameras and smart locks which will also benefit banks.
Management- Appliances like robots can be assigned to look after particular things,
for example in a manufacturing factory- one can look after stock, how much goods are
produced, number of labour to be hired and their salaries etc.
Hidden technology- IoT devices often use complex technology that is not
visible to the user. This can make it difficult for businesses to understand
how the devices work and to troubleshoot problems.

Hardware Knowledge: Understanding the hardware components and their
interactions is vital for IoT development.
Cloud Computing: IoT often relies on cloud platforms for data storage,
processing, and scalability. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like
AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, or Google Cloud IoT is valuable for IoT
developers.
Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking: IoT developers need strong problem-
solving and analytical skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues arising
during IoT solutions’ development and deployment.
“Data Analytics”
This job is aimed at making sense of whatever data you collect using your IoT
devices which is otherwise just a heap of data.
should be very strong in statistical understanding, able to find correlations,
tabulate your findings from data in a graphical and presentable manner and
have knowledge of working with statistics-based languages.
Review of Literature:
We students have been familiar with the topic of internet for many years. We went
more in brief to research about use of internet in commercial regions, threats while
we are using internet in commercial sectors, etc. We went through a lot of articles,
blogs and also research papers related to the topic and tried to understand the
concept. We reviewed a lot about the topic through our A.I books. In terms of
literature, IOT has been gaining popularity in these recent years. We went through a
lot of articles, blogs, AI reference books and journals related to the topic and tried to
understand the concept. Here’s an example of a book written by Kevin Ashton "The
Internet of Things: How the Next Evolution of the Internet is Changing Everything".
This book is a seminal work on IoT, and it provides a comprehensive overview of the
Page 6 of 19
technology. Ashton begins by defining the IoT as "the network of physical objects—
devices, vehicles, buildings, and other items—that are embedded with sensors,
software, and network connectivity, which enables them to collect and exchange
data." He then goes on to discuss the history of the IoT, its different applications, and
the challenges and opportunities it presents.
Method:
1. We first conducted a physical survey on the awareness of commercial internet
of things by visiting people.
2. Then we took responsibilities for each work and researched about our subtopic
-Commercial Internet Of Things.
3. We worked and practiced at school, took help of AI teachers and spent our free
time in the ICT labs researching and finalizing the PPT.
Conclusion:
After completing our research, we were able to learn a lot about internet of things,
its commercial sector and the importance of it in our daily life. In general, the
Internet of Things has already had a huge impact on our lives and the world. However,
with many mobile app developers around the world constantly looking for ways to
improve the IoT, the future is even brighter. The possibilities for this technology are
endless and the ultimate goal in all of this is to make our lives better, easier, and
more efficient. Taking advantage of technological trends such as this could make a
substantial difference in your life or in the success of your business along the way.
