Total Quality Management: Assignment 1 - INDIVIDUAL Assignment

This assignment is created to assess Course Outcome 3 (CO3) of the TQM course.
(CO3: Develop solutions using TQM principles and scientific methods in an organization; [PO4,
LO3, SS1] {C6.} {[PO4:WA4]; [WK (WA4:WK8)]; [WP (WP1:WK8)]}
The assessment is designed using the infographic-poster approach. This assessment is important to
assess the students’ understanding and reflect their learning experience. An infographic -poster
includes both textual and graphic elements, although a poster may be either wholly graphical or
wholly text. Infographic-Posters are designed to be both eye-catching and informative. The main
purpose of infographics is to convey complicated data in a simple visual format. Infographics are also
visual tools to tell stories. This visual information graphics enable the viewers understand the
information quickly and accurately. The objectives of this assignment are:
1. To enable the students to design an accessible and engaging poster to communicate the
information of the assigned topics.
2. To demonstrate the student’s comprehension to present the accurate information using the
infographic design and data visualization.
Instructions:
Infographic-Posters may be used for many purposes. In this assignment each student will be assigned
to do the infographic-poster according to the following topics.
1) Affinity Diagram.
2) Interrelation Diagram
3) Tree Diagram
4) Matrix Data Analysis and
5) House of Quality (HOQ)
Students need to prepare an A4 size poster highlighting:
1) the purpose of the diagram (Affinity/ Interrelation/ Tree/ Matrix/ House of Quality),
2) how to construct the diagram ((Affinity/ Interrelation/ Tree/ Matrix/ House of Quality),
3) when to use the diagram ((Affinity/ Interrelation/ Tree/ Matrix/ House of Quality), and
4) the significant attributes of the diagram ((Affinity/ Interrelation/ Tree/ Matrix/ House of Quality).
5) Reflection of the learning approach.
Please refer to Table 1: List of diagrams that are assigned to the individual student.
Students may refer to the rubric assessment of the infographic -poster making as their guideline to
create the infographic-poster. Also, the students must reflect on their learning experience using the
infographic-poster by critically reviewing the existing knowledge and articulates new perspectives
because of the hands-on learning experience. Please highlight the pros and cons (if any) of this
infographic-poster approach. The rubric assessment of the infographic -poster making activities is
appended below.
