6. DETAILED CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE

6.1 Site Planning & Preparation

General Requirements

a) Once the location is marked, prior to the commencement of drilling. The proper safe workplace is
ensured, and prior necessary coordination is done with MEP.
b) Drilling is commenced using for flute spiral drill bit with carbide head. This will ensure smooth
drilling and penetration into concrete areas but won’t disturb rebar.

AD21094-0201S-FM-18 REV 00 Page 8

Employer PMC Engineer Contractor
Project Name: CORDOBA (Phase-1) at Bloom Living
Ms For Post Fixed Rebar Drill & Fix with Chemical Anchor
c) Wherever the hole making the procedure as narrated above does not work due to onsite rebar then
the necessary minor shifting of the location is attempted to get clear of the rebar and normal
drilling continued
d) In such specific cases where normal drilling is stopped due to rebar, further site reconnaissance is
done with available drawings to ascertain the reason for obstruction. The assistance of the coring
machine will be utilized to help clear some minor rebar, after join inspection by contractors and
site supervisors.

6.2 Work Methodology

Coring
1. Prior to coring, confirm water and power connection to the machine are in order.
2. The coring machine is properly anchored to slab / beam with mechanical anchors.
3. Start 20Ø core drilling to minimal depth to clear the obstacle.
4. Once the specific obstacle like the edge of rebar, etc. is cleared, then the coring machine is
withdrawn, and the area cleaned.
5. Further normal drilling activity reinstated to continue drilling holes to the required depth.

 Standard Installation Procedure for Post Fixing Rebar

1. As per the attached design calculation from Rawlplug, the minimum required depth is 155 mm
and dia will be 190 for the 20 mm dia rebar.
2. Always Wear Eye Protection when drilling.
3. Drill hole to recommended depth and diameter for dowel bar chosen.
4. Clean hole thoroughly with brush and blower. Alternatively flush with clean water. Insert dowel
bar.
5. Position resin cartridge in gun, remove red plastic seal (if present) and attach nozzle.
6. Dispense resin to waste until correct mixing of resin and hardener is achieved.
7. Insert nozzle to bottom of sleeve and pump in resin, carefully withdrawing nozzle whilst
pumping.
Inject sufficient resin to completely fill sleeve.
8. Push stud into resin with slight twisting motion to ensure adequate coating of stud with resin.
9. Resin will be displaced by stud allowing it to adhere to wall of hole and to allow resin to build up
in any cavity or void.
10. Allow stud to remain undisturbed until recommended curing time has elapsed. Curing time is
temperature dependent.
11. Ensure that as many holes as possible are pre-drilled and cleaned before commencing to pump
resin. This will ensure that resin does not harden in nozzle while subsequent holes are being
drilled.
12. Tighten all fixings to recommended torque setting for anchor size and base material.
13. When resin is no longer required leave nozzle attached to cartridge to ensure that the resin does
not dry out. Attach fresh nozzle at commencement of next job.

6.3 Inspection Requirements

Refer to Appendix 1 ITP

7. Construction Program
All the work activity will be performed as per an approved baseline program.

8. Quality Control Requirements

Project Name: CORDOBA (Phase-1) at Bloom Living
Ms For Post Fixed Rebar Drill & Fix with Chemical Anchor
When using a post-fixed rebar system with chemical anchors, there are several quality control
requirements that should be considered to ensure a safe and reliable installation. Here are some
key points to keep in mind:
 Proper Drill Hole Diameter and Depth: The diameter and depth of the drill hole must be appropriate
for the size of the rebar and the type of chemical anchor being used. The hole diameter should be
slightly larger than the diameter of the rebar to allow for easy insertion, and the depth of the hole
should be at least 10 times the diameter of the rebar to ensure sufficient anchorage.
 Cleaning the Hole: The drill hole must be thoroughly cleaned of any debris or dust to ensure a good
bond between the chemical anchor and the concrete. This can be done by blowing out the hole with
compressed air or using a wire brush.
 Mixing and Application of Chemical Anchor: The chemical anchor must be mixed and applied
according to the manufacturer's instructions, paying close attention to the mixing ratio, mixing time,
and application method. It is important to use the correct amount of adhesive to ensure a strong
bond and to avoid waste.
 Placement and Alignment of Rebar: The rebar must be inserted into the hole immediately after the
chemical anchor has been applied, should be positioned, and aligned correctly. It is important to
make sure that the rebar is fully embedded in the adhesive and that there are no air pockets or voids.
 Curing Time: The chemical anchor requires sufficient curing time before any load can be applied to
the rebar. The curing time will vary depending on the type of adhesive and the environmental
conditions, so it is important to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
 Inspection: Once the installation is complete, the rebar and chemical anchor should be visually
inspected for any defects or signs of damage. Any issues should be addressed immediately to ensure
the safety and reliability of the installation.

concrete, and material testing.
