for reading under the Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3Bs Initiatives) issued under DepEd

I have the honor to inform your good office that on the months of October to November, there will
be a Brigada Pagbasa for all non-readers and struggling readers of ( Name of School) .

This activity is an offshoot in response to the call to intensify the advocacy for reading under the
Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3Bs Initiatives) issued under DepEd Memorandum No. 173, s. 2019, the
External Partnerships Service (EPS) has committed to make every learner a reader by engaging partners and
stakeholders to promote the culture of reading.

Brigada Pagbasa, as a form af Brigada Eskwela, is an after-school reading program that envisions
bringing together education partners and experts to help learners read and become functionally literate.
Brigada Pagbasa intends to cater to learners who are below 18 years o1d, including those who are under the
Alternative Learning System (ALS), focusing on non-readers and struggling readers from both formal and
nonformal education systems nationwide.

In view hereof, we are asking your permission to conduct the activity on face- to- face
which will be held in all barangays of ________ District. Participants to this Brigada Pagbasa are
our stakeholders in the community, teacher volunteers, parents, non-readers and struggling readers in
our community.

Rest assured that we will ensure strict compliance of the 50% seating capacity of the
venue and of the minimum public health standards set by the DOH like the observance of
physical distancing, the wearing of facemasks, the use of alcohol ang hand sanitizers, and the use
of thermal scanner upon entry.
