These subject content areas of Filipino Curriculum are designed to develop students'

The Filipino subject K-12 Curriculum Guide outlines the subject content that
students are expected to learn in the Filipino subject from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
In Kindergarten, students must learn the basics of the Filipino alphabet and
phonetics, as well as basic vocabulary and phrases, Filipino songs and rhymes, and
Filipino stories and folktales.
In Grade 1, students must develop basic reading and writing skills, as well as
basic grammar and vocabulary, basic Filipino literature, and basic Filipino culture and
values.
In Grade 2, students must build on their reading and writing skills, intermediate

In Grades 5 and 6, students continue to develop their advanced reading and
writing skills, advanced grammar and vocabulary, advanced Filipino literature,
advanced Filipino culture and values, advanced research and inquiry skills, advanced
orthography and spelling rules, and advanced presentation skills.
