Abb. 5: Measurement principle of the particle counter

1
A light beam is produced in a laser diode.

2
This beam is transmitted through the test section via a lens
system together with the fluid.

3
If it strikes a particle, the light beam is attenuated.

4
The detector counts the number of interruptions in the light
Abb. 4: Operating principle of the particle counter beam. The smaller the amount of light sensed by the
detector, the larger the detected particle.
1
The fluid to be tested is pumped from the hydraulic circuit
into the particle counter.
2
The particles are counted in the test section.

3
The fluid is pumped from the particle counter into the
collection vessel.
