A. Reviewing the Drill:
Previous Lesson
A. Write ah percent as fraction in simplest form.
1. 20%
2. 72%
3. 35%
4. 50%
5. 8%
Review:
The table below shows how the workers in Metro Manila get to work.
Mode of Transportation Frequency
Bus 36
Jeep 28
Train 14
Motorcycle 12
Taxi 10

Answer the following questions:

a. How many people in the survey?
b. What is the least preferred mode of transportation?
c. What is the most preferred mode of transportation?
d. How many people prefers to ride the motorcycle?
Motivation:
Mang Celso brought home a regular pizza pie. Ask your pupils to equally divide the pizza to his
three children.
1. Show the pupils an illustration board of a circle.
2. Ask them about their thoughts on the divided pizza.
3. When they are done sharing their thoughts, explain that it is a presentation of a "whole" of
anything.
4. Use the circle to recall the concept of fraction. You may also show them that four quarters
make a whole circle to introduce them to another visual comparison between parts and a whole.
B. Establishing a Introduce the lesson ( Pie Graph)
purpose for the lesson
C. Presenting A. In a school, there are 800 pupils in Grade 7, 650 pupils in Grade 8, 450 pupils in Grade 9, and 750 pupils in
examples/instances
of the new lesson Grade 10. Draw a pie graph to represent the numbers of pupils in the school.
Grade 7 = 800/2650 x 100 = 30%
Grade 8 = 650/2650 x 100 = 25%
Grade 9 = 450/2650 x 100 = 17%
Grade 10 = 750/265 x 100 = 28%
Steps:
1. Find the angle measure for each section.
Grade 7: 30% of 3600 = 1080
Grade 8: 25% of 3600 = 900
Grade 9: 17% of 3600 = 0.17 x 3600 = 61.2o
Grade 10: 28% of 3600= .28 x 3600 = 100.80
2. Draw a circle using a compass.
3. Use a protractor to draw the angle measure of each section then label it.
4. Write a title for the graph.
