DASAL : Faith Meets Knowledge

I. Project Background
 Our project is about weekly masses for senior high school students. The reason why we conducted it was
not only to study but also to thank God for students who are not able to go to church every week. In view
of the fact that whenever we gather together for mass, we remember and experience the presence of
Jesus Christ, We are acknowledging the importance of the Lord's Day in our lives. The decision to
incorporate weekly masses as part of our project was motivated by the numerous benefits and advantages
they offer. Weekly masses foster community cohesion, provide spiritual nourishment, promote continuous
learning and growth, uphold rituals and traditions, and cultivate a sense of accountability within the
religious community. By organizing and participating in regular religious gatherings, individuals have the
opportunity to strengthen their faith, develop deeper connections with their fellow congregants, and find
solace, guidance, and inspiration in their spiritual journeys. Since it stopped after we finished primary
school, we want to continue doing this. We, therefore, intend to keep doing it in order for students to shift
toward Jesus Christ. Students under the supervision of this project may strengthen their moral character,
show greater respect for one another, and prevent tragedy in schools.

II. Project Objectives

 Provide students with an opportunity to explore and develop their spiritual beliefs and values.
 Encourage reflection, introspection, and personal growth through religious practices and teachings.
 Foster a sense of community and belonging among students by creating a space for shared religious
experiences.

III. Project Methodology

 With this objectives are plans that are needed to be done which are:
 Bringing Light To Spiritual Beliefs:
 Masses will be implemented as a subject once a week.
 Creating Religious Corner:
 Implementing a small “religious corner” in every classroom where students can read about and
contemplate on their own beliefs in terms of religion.
 Making a Safe Space:
 Creating a safe space or a club for those who share the same religious beliefs and values.

A. The Project Approach Summary

 Legal and Policy Considerations:
 Review the legal framework and educational policies governing the inclusion of religious classes in
schools. Ensure compliance with laws regarding religious freedom, separation of church and state, and
non-discrimination.
 Team Making:
 Develop a subject that promotes religious literacy, understanding, and respect for different faiths.
Collaborate with religious leaders, scholars, and educators from various religious backgrounds to
ensure accuracy, authenticity, and inclusivity in the curriculum content. People within the school
grounds such as teachers, supervisors, can help in here too.
 Parent and Community Engagement:
 Involve parents and the community in the decision-making process and keep them informed about the
objectives, content, and benefits of the religious classes. Encourage open dialogue, address concerns,
and seek feedback to foster a collaborative approach.
 Ethical Guidelines and Respect:
 Establish clear ethical guidelines to ensure that religious classes do not promote favor to any particular
religion. Emphasize the importance of respectful discussions, critical thinking, and the exploration of
different beliefs and perspectives. Foster an environment of sensitivity and respect for all students,
regardless of their religious beliefs or non-belief.
 Scheduling and Workspace:
 Determine the appropriate scheduling for the religious classes, considering factors such as class
duration, frequency, and integration within the school timetable. Allocate suitable classroom spaces
and resources to accommodate the classes. This will be better executed with the use of collaboration
tools such as Google Drive, Zoom, Skype and other tools.
 Continuous Evaluation and Regular Monitoring:
 Implement an evaluation framework to assess the effectiveness and impact of the religious classes and
do it continuously. Regularly monitor student progress, teacher performance, and overall satisfaction
levels. Use feedback to make necessary adjustments and improvements to the program. Now with
these feedbacks, adapt the teaching approaches to ensure inclusivity and relevance.

B. Work Breakdown and Task Time Estimates

 To carry out this program successfully, it is preferable to seek assistance from school organizations or class
leaders such as SSG or class officers in delivering this program to the principal. The task that will be
performed is the mass in the Religion Subject that will be implemented if accepted. The time estimated for
the mass/subject is 50 min to 1hr once a week and for preparation, it is estimated to be only consuming 5
to 10 minutes.
 Following this, we, as the project’s proposers are sure to be cooperative in this project. As an 11 member
team, we will be forming 4 units to be put upon a specific project. Atienza, Bestil and Cabar will handle the
survey datas that contains the feedback of students about the subject where we’ll know where we need to
improve. Barber, De Leon and Franco will help in the needs and accommodations within the duration of the
subject like giving out fliers to students, cleaning of the religious corner if untidy, and such. Canono,
Capulong and Clavel will assist the club associated with this project by providing support and help to the
members. Lastly, Crisostomo, Flores ,and Gabriel will assist with the scheduling of classes and whether
certain sections is free on this time of day.

C. Project Deliverables
 The information that will be provided is what’s the context of religious beliefs and the contents of The Bible
and a usual mass. At every lesson each week, a flier will be provided, containing all the elements and
contents of what was lessoned for the students to understand it much more clearly.

IV. Project Cost

 The primary sources of cost in this project in the personnel or the people that’ll be needed for this project to be
started. Pastors, “Mothers” or Madres, “Sisters” or Nuns, and other church members are included in this
category. Appointments with this is typically free but sometimes the charge is ₱50-₱500 pesos per day,
depending on the duration, day, and distance. Equipments of the church members are usually already given by
the church themselves. For the fliers, it is estimated to reach the approximate amount of ₱200-₱1000 per year
which is considerably cheap. With the help of higher levels in the school, this will surely be easier to push
through.
