FINDINGS
It is found that employee engagement is going to be very challenging in near future.
Nevertheless, there are ways employee engagement can be inculcated in an organisation in
best ways possible even in metaverse bubble. The idea of metaverse is both attractive and
interesting for the Gen Y population. According to McKinsey’s titled ‘Probing reality and
myth in the metaverse’, the obsession about metaverse is highest among Gen Y and
millennials who have a very strong inclination towards digital world. They can build a virtual
talent community to attract talents. There could be introduction of recruiting chatbots that can
connect eligible employees seeking for job opportunities with recruiters who look out for
potential employees for their respective organisation. There could be virtual job fairs to retain
talent. Also, a new perspective of learning and development could offer a wide opportunity to
upskill themselves with respect to budding virtual reality world. There are ways to make
learning space more fun and engaging. Organisations can introduce elements of gamification
that can make learning more interactive and develop new skills. It helps save more time and
effort boosting up the interpersonal skills. Employees can play interactive games based on
different content and emerging topics that will help them earn points that are integrated with
the company’s learning management system. This can help employees learn about their
knowledge on a certain topic and explore more content regarding upcoming trends. Offering
Non fungible tokens (NFTs) as a reward is a unique way to keep employees more engaged.
The reward would be in form of gift cards, merchandise or other perks. In near future, there
will more of digital interface where people across the globe will be able to connect more
professionally leading to digital evolution. Also the activities of employees can be tailored
accordance to the needs of individual. It would definitely help foster a culture of continues
improvement and continuous growth.
CONCLUSION

The metaverse is an evolution of the internet. Companies are hiring chief metaverse officers.
One opportunity in the metaverse isn’t quite making a front-page headline, but it should be:
employee engagement. Amid a talent crisis, the continued adoption of hybrid working, and a
looming economic recession where staff may experience pandemic burnout levels.
The metaverse provides an opportunity to use technology that puts people first. Some
companies, such as Accenture, are already using new on boarding for new employees.
Hyundai developed a metaverse experience for training and as R&D platform to understand
just what an employee experience in the metaverse could look like. Also, KFC’S virtual
employee training room where new employees head to a virtual kitchen and are taught to
cook chicken ‘the KFC way’ by the colonel himself.
Metaverse workplace can provide clarity between home and work life, just as people used to
walk into a physical office and there was a general awareness of comings and goings; this can
be reflected in digital worlds.
