Grading Policy:
● 50% Tests and Major Projects

Course Expectations:
For student conduct and discipline, the FCHS Student Handbook policies and procedures will be
followed. The following expectations highlight the most important expectations:
1. Be on time for class and be ready to go when the bell rings.
2. Bring all necessary supplies with you to class (paper, pencil, Chromebook).
3. Cell phones should be off and out of sight at all times.
4. Follow all rules outlined in the student handbook.
5. Come with a willing attitude to learn!
Academic Integrity
● Plagiarism will be treated very seriously in this classroom. Plagiarism is defined as “the practice
of taking someone else’s work or ideas and passing them off as one’s own.” Borrowing someone
else’s work can include the work of other students, published materials (books, websites, etc.),
and/or cutting and pasting directly from the internet. If a student plagiarizes on an assignment,
they will receive an automatic zero, a referral to administration, and their guardian will be
notified. Please ask the teacher if you are unsure if your actions are in violation of the nature of
this rule.
Make-up work & Exams:
● Students who have absences will be allowed to make up all work missed during such absence. It
is the student’s responsibility and obligation to make the arrangements to make-up work, either
prior to or immediately following the absence. All missing work can be found on Google
Classroom. The number of days a student has to complete make-up work will be equal to the
number of days absent. If a student is absent on a test day, and misses no further instruction on
the test material, then the student is expected to take the test upon returning to school during
FLEX.
Retesting Policy
● Unit tests may be recovered after completing unit recovery work after school for a failing
unit test grade. The replacement grade will not exceed a 70/C.
Extra Credit
● Extra Credit is assigned at the discretion of the teacher. Extra Credit is not a guarantee,
and would be available to the entire class if assigned.
Late Work
● Work is expected to be submitted on the due date. Students may occasionally need to
submit a late assignment and will have the opportunity to earn an 80 if later than three
days. Students will lose the opportunity to turn in late assignments after the following
unit has been completed.
Attendance
● Daily school attendance is very important. Your contribution to class discussions and
your inquiries are valuable to the whole class, and no make-up assignment can substitute
for what takes place in the classroom. Meaningful instruction will occur up to the last
school day and your attendance is important. Consult your handbook for the official
attendance policy for Fannin County High School.
Return to School
● Upon returning to school, students are to submit a note to the main office or an email to
[email protected] containing the following information: the students first and
last name, the reason the student was absent, the number of days and dates of the
absence, a valid phone number to contact the parent/guardian or medical office. The
student has a maximum of 3 days to provide this note to change an unexcused absence to
an excused absence.
Tardies
● A student is tardy to class when they are not in the classroom, ready to start class when
the bell rings. Students who report to class 15 minutes or later will be considered
skipping. Consult your handbook for additional information regarding class tardies.
