The Cyclones

Locust are not a problem in Haiti as they are in Africa, but cyclones sometimes devaste the south of our country.
The Radio alwas annoiuces the coming of cyclone and make suggestions. People go to the stores and buy food
and what they need for several days. If their houses are not safe, people go with neighbors to a safe place.
When the wind becomes stronger and stronger, the rain poursdown and every body stays under shelter. Doors and
windows are shut. Frightened children listen to the shaky roofs, trees fall down, flying board and branches go
with the wind.

After many hours people can go out. What do they see in the streets and on the roads ? they things like metal
sheets, section of walls, fallen trees, fragments of all kind of things. In the fields, banana, and coffe trees are
uprooted. Fruit trees and crops ar4e ruined. Many animals are killed or wounded.

When cyclone Hazel devasted the south Haiti on october 12, 1954, about one hundred people were killed, at
Dame Marie, many others were wounded and more than four thousand where without shelter.

The Heart

The Heart has more and less the size of a closed fist. It is like the English of a car, it is the difference that a heart
can’t be turned off as we do for an engine.

The heart fonctions in a constant way, without ever, stopping. God has made it like a very powerful muscle.
Which is never tired as the other ones of the body. It works 24 hours in a day, everyday of the week, all the day
of the year, even before the birth of a person and till death. The hearts make the blood circulate though your body
a bout a thousand times per day. It’s an organe that accomplishes double job:

1- First, it sends the oxygen blood towards lungs in order it resupply with oxygen.
2- The blood, now fresher and oxygen carrier, comes back in order to be propelled towards all this happens
without the report of it, that you put to sleep or awakened, standing for lyins, busy, playing or sitting. For
taking good care of your heart and make that absolutely vital organ continue to work well, we must have a
healthy life style.
