AluSAL
Sodium Aluminate 45% (Stabilized)
AluSAL is a transparent yellowish solution of Product Specification
Na2Al2O4 with a typical Na2O/Al2O3 molar ratio of
1.28. AluSAL is a versatile and economical source Appearance Dark yellow liquid
of high purity and highly reactive aluminum.
AluSAL is produced by reacting aluminum Aluminium (Al) 13.2 ± 0.5 wt%
hydroxide with sodium hydroxide. Our
manufacturing process produces a material that is Al2O3 24.0 ± 1.0 wt%
free from precipitates and contains an organic
stabilizer, which prolongs shelf-life. This means Na2O 19.5 ± 1.0 wt%
that AluSAL is stable over a wider range of
handling and storage conditions Na : Al ratio 1 : 1.28 ± 5 %

Density (20°C) 1.55 ± 0.02 kg/L

Quality & Standards
AluSAL solutions are produced according to EN pH (20 °C) 12.5 ± 1
882 (Chemicals used for the treatment of water
intended for human consumption).

Possible Applications Metals (typical values)

• Industrial water treatment
• Drinking water treatment Chromium (Cr) < 0.2 mg/kg
• Pulp and paper industry Antimony (Sb) < 0.01 mg/kg
• Pharmaceutical & Pigment industries
Arsenic (As) < 0.03 mg/kg

Storage & Handling Lead (Pb) < 0.03 mg/kg

AluSAL must not come in contact with water Nickel (Ni) < 0.02 mg/kg
during storage and handling because of risk of
precipitation. Never apply air pressure to delivery Selenium (Se) < 0.05 mg/kg
containers or storage tanks because air in the Cadmium (Cd) < 0.002 mg/kg
product can make it precipitate. AluSAL is
Mercury (Hg) < 0.001 mg/kg
classified as dangerous goods due to its ability to
dissolve and degrade aluminum, copper, brass, Copper (Cu) < 0.05 mg/kg
chromium, as well as electroplated items. This
Zinc (Zn) < 10 mg/kg
means that equipment such as pumps, transfer
lines, etc. should be made of artificial material, Iron (Fe) < 20 mg/kg
iron, or steel. Expected shelf life is 6 months, after
which precipitation and discoloring can occur.
Read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before using the
product.
