CT SCAN RESULT

Clinical information: Abdominal enlargement for 7 months

Technique: intravenous contrast enhanced trans-axial images of the whole abdomen were
obtained using 1.5 mm slices. Multiplanar data sets were constructed for additional views.

Findings:

CT SCAN OF THE ABDOMEN WITH IV CONTRAST:

There is a massive, intraperitoneal, fluid-attenuating, non-enhancing collection occupying the
abdominopelvic cavity. It displaces the collapsed bowels posteriorly and centrally. No solid
attenuating component or septations noted.
The liver is normal in size with smooth borders and homogenous parenchyma. Portal and
hepatic veins and its radicles are not dilated. Hepatic arteries and intra and extra hepatic ducts
are unremarkable.
Gallbladder is normal in size with no intraluminal densities. Its wall is not thickened.
Pancreas shows the normal dimension of its head, body and tail. Pancreatic duct is not dilated.
There is fullness along the peripancreatic region.

CHEST X-RAY
EXAMINATION: CHEST APL

The study is taken in suboptimal inpsiration.

There are no active lung parenchymal infiltrates
Pulmonary vessels are within normal limits.
The heart is not enlarged.
The trachea is midline.
The costophrenic angles and hemidiaphragms are intact.
The osseous structures and soft tissues are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION: NO SIGNIFICANT CHEST FINDINGS.

SONOGRAPHIC REPORT

ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND:
Ultrasound of the abdomen including the prostate gland was performed using a 3.6 MHZ convex
transducer.
SONOGRAPHIC FINDINGS:
LIVER: Homogenous parenchyma, and no focal solid or cystic mass is noted. It measures 10.0
in its cranio-caudal length. The intra-hepatic bile ducts are not dilated. Intact porto-venous
channels. CBD measures 0.9mm.
GALLBLADDER: It measures 3.3 x 0.8 cm without stone or mass. Wall is not thickened, less
than 3.0 mm. There is no pericholecystic fluid collection.
PANCREAS: Normal size, contour and echopattern. Masses are not seen. Pancreatic duct is
not dilated.
SPLEEN: The length of the spleen is 7.5 cm, and no mass or calcifications noted. No extra
vesical mass is identified.
KIDNEYS AND URINARY BLADDER/PROSTATE GLAND:
The right kidney measures 6.8 x 3.0 x 2.6 cm (LWH), while the left kidney measures 7.3 x 3.2 x
3.3 cm (LWH), Well-defined cortico-medullary junction. No mass, ectasia nor stone is noted. No
pararenal lesion is seen Ureters are not dilated.
The urinary bladder is adequately filled without mass or stone. Wall is intact. No extra-vesical
mass is noted.
There is a large left-sided abdomino-pelvic cystic mass with multiple thick and thin septations
measuring approximately 18.9 x 21.3 x 9.1 cm (LWH) or total volume of 1,905 cc. It displaces
the bowels to the contralateral side:
IMPRESSION:
• LARGE ABDOMINO-PELVIC MULTILOCULATED CYSTIC MASS, LEFT. SUGGEST CT
CORRELATION FOR FURTHER EVALUATION.
