Reaction Paper

Written by Sparks, N. Cassavetes, N. [Director]. (2004, Sept. 15). The

Notebook [Film]. New Line Cinema. Our reaction to the film is the scene where
Noah builds his dream home with the help of his father. When he returns home
after the war, he finally buys the house and begins renovating it, even though he
and Allie no longer communicate, he continues to renovate the house as Allie
describes it. The film's main characters, emphasized the meaning of unconditional
love. We admire how they completely disregarded everyone else and focused
solely on their feelings when Allie came back to Seabrook to only realize that the
missing piece is Noah. Truly one of the best love stories we’ve ever seen.

Noah is a country boy who fell in love with a rich city girl named Allie during
the summer. When Allie's parents discovered his social class, they disapproved of
him and forced Allie to stay far away from him. Allie eventually started college,
and Noah had a different job, and then the government needed to enlist more
soldiers due to the conflict and Noah is one of them. After the war, Noah returned
home and was surprised by his father, who informed him that he could finally
purchase his dream property since his father sold the old house, shortly after his
father died. And then he focused on building the house with passion for the
reason that, Allie would find her way back because of the house, and that belief
happened when Allie saw in the newspaper that he was selling the house and
then went to visit him in Seabrook only to discover that all she is missing in life is
Noah. Allie then cancelled her wedding to Lon Hammond and gave up her affluent
lifestyle to be with Noah.

In conclusion, being patient is one of things to learn when having a

relationship, it is like making a best decisions for the both of you to grow and
become more mature. We recommend this film to everyone especially the
hopeless romantic because it will make you feel a range of emotions, including
happiness, sadness, jealousy, and rage. Unconditional love was emphasized
through what happened in the character’s experiences.

Review

The romantic film, The Notebook, portrays the unconditional love of the two
lovers as they parted ways because of World War II. We are pleased to watch
such a wonderful film where Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) constructs the house
of his dreams with the help of his father. This demonstrates Noah's genuine
affection for Allie (Rachel McAdams) by doing a lot of work for her.

The scene where Noah goes above and beyond for Allie; he constructs
the home of her dreams, but in reality, they hardly know one another, shows how
deeply Noah loves Allie. Noah constructed a large white house with blue shutters,
a room with a view of the river, and a wraparound porch. It is the same with how
Allie tells him where she would like to live. The house Noah constructed has a tea
room, which Allie has long desired. It is a place where they can sip tea while
watching the sunset. Noah purposefully built the house near to the river to allow
Allie to paint there, as it is her dream to be a painter and it is her desire to paint
near the river. Painting near rivers has become a significant means of expressing
a range of emotions. These paintings frequently expose the innermost ideas of an
artist. It portrays how deeply Noah loved Allie. In the story, Allie recognizes the
work Noah did, in addition to the fact that Allie will eventually suffer from
dementia. We agree that the ending is interesting as the house where Noah
constructed it becomes a nursing home after years pass, as we know that Allie
suffers from dementia.

The scene shows how deeply Noah loves Allie. Overall, we recommend
this movie for those who are at the right age. It was a heartbreaking love story
about two people who worked deeply for their love to end until the end. Many
things happened to them, but they survived. The way the tale flows is beautiful,
and the plot surprise is so startling. The movie could have been better if Noah and
Allie had already known each other for a long time, making the desperate love
between them more realistic.

Critique

The Notebook is a romantic drama film that came into the limelight in
September 15, 2004. The movie was written and introduced to the world by
Nicholas sparks. This story was about the enduring power of love, a story of
miracles that will stay with you forever.

The movie is very detailed, especially on how Noah restored the old house
so, Allie might find a way to come back to him. Some call it as labor of love but
others call it something else. He rebuilds the old house from the ground up and
get the building plans approved which is more likely related into civil and structural
engineering because he consulted on how he will rebuild the house by giving the
building plan to know the construction, maintenance of the house structures as
well and the way to improve the existing building. Noah did was remove
everything except the frame, which made it easier for him to reshape or design
the house because there were no unwanted things, painting the house into white
and blue and repairing the roofs and renovating inside/outside of the house also
falls in civil and structural engineering as a basic knowledge.

One of the things Noah went wrong when you compare it to a real architect
is he did not have a team. It is still okay to renovate a house on your own, but
there will always be things that you do not see that others do, and this is a huge
risk because one wrong move, planning, or decision could cost your life. And also,
the key skills of an architect are "commercial awareness" it means you need to
sell the house in order to get the money and make a business successful and by
watching the movie he did not sell the house he fixed/renovate.
