ASSIGNMENT-1

SCARA Robot:

Scara robot is a type of industrial robot. SCARA stands for Selective Compliance
Assembly Robal Arm 06 Selective Compliance Articulated Robot Arm

The SCARA robot is a manipulator with "four" degrees of freedom. This type of
robot has been developed to improve the speed and repeatability on PICk & PLACE
TASKS from one location to another of to speed and improve the steps involved

Types of scara Robots;

* Single anis robots

* Linear motor single axis robots

* Cartesian robots

* PICK & PLACE robots

- The scara robot is mast commonly used for pick and place or assembly operations
where high speed and high accuracy is required.
* Features of SCARA Robot:

*Superior High speed performance:

The SCARA Robot TH-A series incorporates a high capacity, high- pm motor and
high speed ball sere w combined with a lightweight arm design for enabling
operation at even higher speeds than before. The SCARA Robot THP series
incorporates a light weight, low inertia arm design combined with a high capacity
motor for crating long periods of continuous operation at maximum speed.

*High Rigidity and High Accuracy:

Repeat positioning accuracy with low ernes and Quick attenuation of vibrations
enables rapid transition to the next movement in processes requiring high
accuracy.

The SCARA robot TH550A and smaller sizes are designed with a short cable duct
and minimizing total strength for enabling an ideal shape for the SCARA robot

* Internal Sequencer Function:

The SCARA Robot controllers incorporates a simple sequencer (TEmini) . A ladder

program can be wide for control of input signals regardless of robot operation.
Some 'SCARA caradenistic like high reliability, high accuracy and speed, minimum
maintainance, case of this kind use and extremely compact design make, robot
really suitable to work.

* precision;

SCARA robot arms are increditly precise which is one of the reasons they are ideal
for assembly applications The rigidity of the Z axes is one of the main contributors
to their inesedible precision. Another reason for their high precision is their limited
number of axes. Having only four axes limits their range of motion which helps to
reduce the amount of cars.

Limitations of SCARA Robot:

SCARA robots, because of their configuration, are typically only capable of
carrying a lighter payload. Typically they carry up to 2 kg nominal.

The envelop of a SCRA robot is typically circular, which doesn't suit all applications
and the robot has limited density and flexibility compared to the full 3D capability
of other types of robots

So SCARA robots does not suitable for all applications.
