Wednesday is Administrative Professional’s Day! Which means our Front Office Staff!
Please give a big thank you or a token of appreciation when you come into school on
Wednesday for our amazing staff in our nurse’s and front office! They work so hard!

Drama Club: A huge shout out to our students, Drama Coaches, and parents for another outstanding Theatric
Performance: Beauty and the Beast! There were three performances on top of two student performances and I
hope you got to attend one of them because the show was absolutely fantastic. Our Drama Coaches Mr. Camuso
and Mrs. Dingle work so hard all year with our drama students and it really shows off their talents! We are so
proud of our students, their performances were top notch and they showed such confidence getting up in front of
hundreds performing their parts. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered and supported our production!

Thank you to our PTA: Our PTA has agreed to fund our student supplies for next year! This is truly amazing
and helps our CCSD/State school budget tremendously! A big thank you to the PTA but especially Mrs. Belisle
for running the Read-A-Thon for the month of March and acquiring and scheduling all the wonderful prizes and
activities for our students for reaching their top reading minutes!

SBAC News: A big shout out to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students! They stayed focused and did an awesome job
during their SBAC testing dates. The tests are extremely challenging and our air even went out a couple of
testing days. They were real troopers for remaining focused on their tests despite the conditions of our buildings.
Our other grades completely supported them too! Our testing for the state is complete and now on to MAPS
testing for the district in all grades K-5.

APPLE CORE Winning Classes: Congratulations to the following classes for turning in the most AppleCore
Bookmarks: Mrs. Brown’s Kindergartners, Ms. Anderson’s First Graders, Miss Ash’s Second Graders, Mrs.
Benton’s Third Graders, Mrs. Stackel’s Fourth Graders, and Mrs. Martin’s Fifth Graders! Way to go! No we are
just waiting to see if our school won Apple Core for Henderson.

Yearbooks are HERE!

We have received our yearbooks, sorted them, and will be delivering them to classes this Wednesday. If you didn’t
order one, we have 40 yearbooks left from our order to sell for $40 (cash only) at our front office until May 19th.

CCSD Registration is OPEN: Registration is open in Infinite Campus for the 2023-2024 school year. Every student
currently sitting in a CCSD seat needs to register (and completed for every sibling attending CCSD). When you go into
your Infinite Campus portal, click on “more,” then click on the “online registration parents only,” then click on “existing
student registration,” and review each of your screens in order to update any needed information. It can be very slow
going from page to page. It’s always a good idea to print your application summary in case something happens –
technology wise and your application/registration is lost.

Teacher Requests: Parents, we have had increasingly more unbalanced classes in regards to behavior and academic
levels the past 2 years. This was due to new enrollments and withdrawals, teacher changes, and parents complaining
that they didn’t get their first choice; this year we have experienced students purposely misbehaving just to get
removed from the class they were assigned to. We support all of our teachers on this campus. It was decided with the
administrative team that we will not be taking parent requests for this upcoming year. The grade level and specialist
teams will sort the students based on test scores, academic grades and levels, special education and GATE, students whose
primary language is not English, behavior, and finally those students who should not be placed together due to behavior
difficulties. After the teams sort then administration is the final determination on class lists.

Parent Surveys for 2023-24: Monday, April 24th was the final day to submit parent surveys regarding systems in our
school and on our campus. Thank you to those who took the time to complete and send in.
New Bell Times for 2023-24: Parents, the district has reassigned our bell times for next year. They are as follows:
 School for students: 9:05 am – 3:16 pm
 Milers (if we continue it next year) opens at 8:30 am We will develop our lunch schedules, school
 Breakfast opens at 8:40 am calendar in June and post to our website.
 Morning Recess/Campus opens for students at 8:45 am
 Line-up Bell is at 8:55 am Your students’ class assignments will be mailed
 Tardy Bell for students is at 9:05 am June 20th unless they are attending summer
 Dismissal is at 3:16 pm school – they will be given the last day of
summer school.

Library Books: All library books must be turned in by Monday, May 8th. The final day to check out books with be this
Thursday. The librarian has sent all the teachers the final dates for their rotation day to turn in books. Library books not
returned will be assigned a fine in Infinite Campus and will follow students until paid from school to school in CCSD.
