    INFORMATION ABOUT THE ‚OLGA MÜHRER TRAVEL GRANT’ APPLICATIONS

    The Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) awards a limited number of ,Olga Mührer Travel Grants’
    __ of up to 2000 Euro each to individuals from low- and middle-income countries who would like to attend scientific
    meetings or training programmes at the BNITM.

    Before submitting an application, please read carefully through the following requirements:

    1. Applications for an ,Olga Mührer Travel Grant’ to attend a scientific meeting or training programme at the
    BNITM will have to please be completed and submitted via Email to [email protected]. The deadline for
    this year’s applications is 31 August 2019, midnight CET.

    2. ,Olga Mührer Travel Grants’ are awarded to applicants who are citizens of a country classified as low and
    middle income by the UN/World Bank. Please refer to the following Country Classification Map to see whether
    your country is eligible.

    3. Applicants for a travel grant are kindly asked to confirm that they i) do not receive additional travel funding
    support from a third party, e.g. from their institution, third-party funding or other stipends, which cover the
    same items as the ,Olga Mührer Travel Grant’; and ii) that s/he can meet any remaining cost (if any) needed
    to take part in the scientific meeting or training programme.

    4. The following documents must be submitted in order to be eligible for receipt of a travel grant:

     Application form for the ‘Olga Mührer Travel Grant’


     Confirmation of participation in the scientific meeting or training programme (i.e. signed ‘Letter of
    Acceptance’)

    5. The amount of the travel grant may vary depending on the amount of funding the applicant has already
    secured by other means and on the travelling distance to the scientific meeting or training programme at the
    BNITM. Applicants are asked to select the most economical travel option (e.g. the cheapest flight).

    6. The travel grants are awarded to applicants if all documents (as listed under point 4) have been submitted.
    Costs for e.g. visa will be reimbursed in cash upon arrival at the Institute.

    7. There is no legal claim for receiving an ,Olga Mührer Travel Grant’ by the BNITM.
