for a Study Permit to study in Canada as an International Student. I have received a Letter of
Acceptance for Bachelor of Hospitality Management from Acsenda School of Management
in Vancouver, British Columbia with DLI# O19278931852 for the April 2023 intake.

I’m Ednalyn P. Ayon-ayon, I am 28 years old and currently residing in Zone 2, Maddalero,
Buguey, Cagayan Philippines. There are 4 of us in my family, my parents and one brother,
wherein I am the eldest child.
After graduating in March 2015, I had immediately applied for a job as a manager but
unfortunately the slot was not available. So, I decided to apply as a service crew at the
famous fast food chain in the Philippines “Jollibee”, in hopes to earn money to help my
family. With my determination and faith in God, I was able to get accepted on May 2015 and
started my employment immediately. I was employed in this field for 1 month only, from
May to June 2015. And I had learned to work faster with quality standard. On July 2015, I
travelled in Macau, China to worked abroad. With the helped of my mother, I was able to be
employed. I started working on August 2015 to October 2020 at Padre Modern Cuisine, a
semi-fine dining restaurant. I worked there for 5 years as a chef. Working in the restaurant
abroad is not an easy feat. They have a different cultures, languages, nationality and system
that I needed to adapt. With my passion, prayers and perseverance, I was able to survived and
lived. And it was indeed a very challenging journey yet fruitful years.
I was a kitchen helper back then on August 2015 – August 2019. I experienced a hot through
thick and thin especially on how to be strong, independent, working as a team, works faster,
and working under pressure. After that, I got promoted as a chef by year August 2019 –
October 2020. Showcasing my talent and passion in cooking with a heart and giving art to
food has been my responsibility to our valued guests in the establishments and act
professionally with the field I had worked on.
As of the current, I am employed as a Store Manager at my brother’s Milk tea Shop located at
Sta. Teresita, Cagayan Valley, Philippines. I had been accepted on October 2020. My
responsibilities as a Store Manager includes overseeing the daily operation of the store,
making sure it runs smooth and effectively, motivating sales team, creating business
strategies, developing promotional material and training new staff, deliver excellent service
to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, respond to customers complaints and concerns
in professional manner.
PURPOSE OF STUDY
Having worked with most of my professional background in food industry and my passion in
experiencing the diversity of cultures, I had chosen to study Hospitality Management.
Because of my background of being a degree holder in Hotel and Restaurant Management, it
was indeed related to each other, and I would be more equipped and have more experienced
in my chosen field. Managing my very own business and to be successful hotelier and
restaurateur is one of my ultimate educational goals that I want to pursue all throughout my
study most especially with the business management skills I will gained. Other than that,
Canadian degree will open a lot of opportunities in my homeland. This is an in-demand
course, and can gain access to knowledge based content in real time, anywhere and anytime.
I am a firm believer that this degree will be able to help me get a much better understanding
of how hospitality truly is.
In addition to this, I truly admire Canada for the privilege to allow International Students to
study in their country, allowing the students to gain further knowledge and a better quality of
education system which recognized worldwide for high academic standards, learning with the
best and brightest, affordable cost of study, diverse and multicultural society, safe country,
set on the path toward to good future. Given these circumstances, studying in Canada would
hit two birds with one stone, achieving one of my lifelong dreams of experiencing Canada’s
culture and at the same time provide me the means to have a degree that will give me a
competitive edge amongst my peers. This will also result to the application of what I learned
in Canada to my home country, further improving what we have to continually work hard
towards the success in this industry.
TRAVEL HISTORY
I have traveled outside my country. On July 2015, I travelled Macau, China for worked. I
stayed there for 5 years. On the first year, we had a 1 year contract. Then renewed for 2 years
validity. March 27, 2017 – April 05, 2017, it was my first vacation, wherein I took my annual
leave going back to my home, Philippines.
For the following year, August 13, 2018 – August 20, 2018, I went back to Philippines again
for vacation. After that, I had renewed my contract for 2 years again. Supposed to be, I had to
take vacation again in the Philippines but unfortunately, pandemic had happened wherein
people are not allowed to travel. Until I finished my contract with total of 5 years. I decided
to go back home for good, year 2022 of December 21st. During my stay there, I have not
violated any laws.
Once my study permit is granted, I will sincerely abide the terms and conditions stipulated in
my temporary stay in Canada. It is an assurance that I will never be a burden to the Canadian
Government. I pledge to respect and abide the laws of Canada just as I am a law abiding
citizen in my home country.
Due to the pandemic that is going on all over the world, I understand that there are travel-
related policies and restrictions that are imposed for the safety of the masses which
influenced my decision to get vaccinated to protect my family and the people around me.
Thankfully, I was able to get my first dose of Pfizer on November 3, 2021 and my second
dose last September 24, 2021.
FINANCIAL PLANS
I understand the cost to pursue international studies in Canada and had made the careful
decision to invest in my education. I am very lucky that my Uncle Edward S. Ayon-ayon will
sponsor not only my stay in Canada but they will also accommodate me into their home
during my studies. My uncle is the youngest brother of my father whose working and a
permanent resident in Canada. I understand that studying in Canada is a life-changing
decision that would require a huge investment, however, I truly believe that with excellent
education, I will also be the one to reap the benefits from it. Due to this, I had made the
careful and calculated decision to save up from when I started working in 2015 up to present
that allowed me to have a ₱520,000.00 or an estimate of CAD 12,736.37 bank deposit in my
name which came from my savings and gifts from my family and relatives who are very
supportive of my desire in pursuing to study in Canada. I had already paid the initial deposit
of CAD 2,500 and I am also lucky enough to be given the admission grant of CAD 15,000.
Once my study permit is granted, I also plan to pay for the tuition fee amounting to
$16,605.50. (Kindly see attached Letter of Acceptance that include the tuition fee and
admission grant, my bank certificate, initial deposit receipt and notarized Letter of Support,
Canadian Dollar rate of exchange is based on Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ exchange rate as
of January 25, 2023).
HOMETIES
Filipinos are well known to have close knit families and are family oriented. I am very proud
to confirm this. After finishing my degree in Canada, I have no plans in staying once I
graduate. I am very much looking forward to get home to my family and friends. Of my 28
years of existence, I had only been away from my family once. This was during the time that I
worked abroad at Macau, China as it is miles away from home, this led me to my decision to
live independently. And the good thing is I’m with my mother during my stay in Macau, who
guide me in my life of endeavors. It was a tough time being away from my parents after living
with them for 25 years, however, it had taught me how to be strong, independent and not be
uprooted by anything that comes my way. Though, I understand being away from them would
be hard, I am going to be looking forward to the day that I get home and be with my family
again. My father is about to be a senior citizen. I know that by attaining another degree will
open more opportunities for me, saving my father retirement one day. My mother is also in
her mid-50s, she has been an OFW for more than a years, and I would like her to go home
for good. In order for them be with one another again. I know that my parents are getting old
and I would not waste time to lose the chance to take care of them as they had when I was
young. I had made it my life’s mission as soon as I entered college that once I am able to set
footing. Being an adult, I want them to retire comfortably in the very near future. Staying
true to what I had stated, once I get home and establish my footing in the hospitality industry,
I am planning to buy a property such as lands for my parents and transform it into resort and
restaurant that will generate a stable income for them to secure their retirement. I am also a
member of government owned companies such as SSS, Pag-Ibig and Philhealth which will
directly contribute to my retirement in the Philippines. I will also be leaving my bank account
with Banco De Oro open once I leave for my education.
Thank you so much for giving me a chance to write and state my intention towards this
wonderful opportunity to be able to attain an international education that will help me get a
better future for me and my family. I hope you have a great day and thank you for your
favorable consideration.
Sincerely,
EDNALYN P. AYON-AYON
