IN GENERAL:
FORD vehicles can be identified from the following numbers:
Location
- stamped on the vehicle
Vehicle identification number - VIN - - on the type plate (factory plate)
- behind the windscreen
Engine Number - on the engine block
The exact locations of the stamped VIN are shown in the following imagery.
When using the engine number to identify a vehicle, it is necessary to provide the Ford factory with the engine
number and the exact engine type. It is not possible to identify an individual vehicle. It is however possible to
provide a limited range of likely VIN.

With the Ford Galaxy a new type plate (identification plate) was introduced, in the form of a sticker. The
sticker is white and consists of a metal foil. Any attempt to remove this foil destroys it.
