Explain further that a video news clip…
A video news clip contains information about an event currently happening in a
certain place or country. It contains the message of a person in authority being
interviewed. The person in authority’s message answers the questions asked by an
interviewer who most of the time is a reporter. This message is usually addressed to
a group of people or a person involved in the issue.
There are steps on how to analyze a video news clip.
1. Determine the issue or topic of the video news clip.
2. Focus on what the person in authority says.
3. Guess who is being addressed by his/her message.
4. List down clues or proofs that will help you guessing addressed in the
message.

C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson

1. You will be viewing the same video news clip again. Fill up your responses in
the matrix. Be sure to complete the table about the video.

Kinilaw na Tangigue Recipe (Fish Ceviche)
Prep time: 3 hours Cook time: 1 min. Total time: 3 hours 1 min.
Author: Vanjo Merano
Serves: 6
Ingredients:
2 lbs. Tangigue (Wahoo fish), fillet and cut into cubes
2 thumbs fresh ginger, minced
8 pieces hot chili (Thai chili or siling labuyo), chopped
15 to 20 pieces calamansi
1 medium red onion, chopped into small pieces
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste
Instructions
1. Squeeze the juice out of the calamansi over a large bowl. Use a sieve to filter
the seeds. Discard the seeds.
2. In the bowl with calamansi juice, add sugar, ½ teaspoon salt, and ground
black pepper. Stir until the sugar and salt are diluted.
3. Add the ginger, chili, and onion. Stir for a few seconds until all ingredients are
well blended.
4. Arranged the raw fish cubes in a large bowl. Pour the calamansi mixture.
Toss until the fish cubes are coated. Let it stay for 10 minutes.
5. Toss one more time and taste. Add more salt if needed. You can also add
more calamansi juice if needed. Toss to blend all the ingredients. Securely
cover the bowl and place it inside the refrigerator. Let it chill for at least 3
hours.
6. Serve. Share and enjoy.
