The “Cloud” can be many things to different people.
Software as a Service – a software distribution model in which a third-party

provider hosts applications and makes them available to customers over the
Internet.
Platform as a Service - Cloud computing model that provides users with hosted
development kits, database tools, and application management capabilities.
Infrastructure as a Service - A form of cloud computing that provides virtualized

computing resources over the internet.
IT Budgets:
• Cloud Spending is accelerating:
– 2018: 19% of IT Budgets spent on Cloud
– 2022: 28% of IT Budgets will be spent on the Cloud
• The largest cloud shift before 2018 was in SaaS

• Post 2018, the largest shift in dollars will be in Infrastructure
