LEARNING ACTIVTIY SHEET

LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEET

Using a Range of Verbs, Adjectives and Adverbs to Convey

Emotional Response or Reaction to an Issue to Persuade

Background Information for Learners

Verbs are words used to indicate an action, state, or occurrence, and they
form the main part of the predicate of a sentence.
Examples: Perla caught some fish.
They watch movies every Saturday.
Frontliners are the modern-day heroes.

Adjectives are called modifiers because they limit, change or explain further
the meaning of the noun or pronoun that they modify. Usually, they answer the
questions what kind, which one, how many, and how much.
Examples : Curly hair looks beautiful.
The tall lady is the president.
Anna has an expensive watch.

Adverbs modify a verb, an adjective and another adverb.

They may be a word, phrase, or a clause that usually modifies the predicate of
the sentence.
Examples: The story ended happily.
Victor walks very fast.
An exceedingly tall man visited the store.

Persuasion is a process or a skill by which you get people to vote on your

favor, stop doing something, or sway them to change their mind on a given issue.
