3.2.2 Error Messages

1) NO CUFF! : It is shown when the desired level of pressure is not detected even after some lapse
of time from the system operation, which requires the visual inspection on whether cuffs are well
connected with hoses. When the same error message is repeatedly shown under good connecting of cuffs
with hoses, contact your product seller.

2) LEAK AIR! : It is displayed when pressure level is not reached to the preset value, though a certain
level of pressure is detectable, which requires the visual inspection on whether cuffs are well
connected with hoses or if there occurs leakage. When the same error message is repeatedly shown under
good connecting of cuffs with hoses, contact your product seller.

3) LOW BATTERY! : It is displayed when battery power is in the low state while the system is not
connected to AC power, requiring immediate connecting the system to the power source. If not, it may
cause shorter lifetime of the system.

4) TIME OVER! : It is flickered in LCD, together with the warning sound, when elapsing the preset
time after anti-blooding function, requiring proper measure following by instruction of a surgeon.

3.2.3 Other Functions

1) To save battery power, the instrument automatically enters the sleep mode after 3 minutes of
non-operation, and activates again as soon as you press any button in the panel for one time. As
to the low power state of battery, the instrument is changed to the sleep mode after 20 seconds of
non-operation while generating warning message for every two minutes. In this case immediately
connect it to the power source for batter recharging. Complete discharging may cause shorter lifetime
to battery.

2) When the battery is in short of power voltage, the yellow-colored battery symbol in LED flickers
continuously while generating the 1st warn sound. And when it is outreached to the point of 2~3 minutes
before its complete discharging is made, the system produces the 2nd warn sound. Therefore, when
heard of battery warning sound, the system MUST be plugged in to AC power source in order not to
bring about operational stoppage causing a detrimental impact to your surgical operative field.
Complete discharging in a battery may impede recharging successfully, so keep in mind that the battery
MUST not be discharged in any case including storage.

3) The instrument(DTS-2000W) automatically calibrates the pressure value through digital pressure
sensor when connected to the power for the first time, which has highest accuracy in representation
of values all the time.

3.3.3 Fits and Cautions

1) The use of the instrument must be proceeded in compliance with your doctor's instruction.
2) Make sure the condition of cuff before its placement. The cuff torn out or damaged with
possibility of leakage may cause insufficient anti-blooding effect.
3) Do not operate the system until the cuff is completely fit to a patient. When inflated cuff
to some extent is applied to the patient, it may cause a physical burden as well as
possibility of damage to cuff itself. It further weaken the close tightening to the patient's
skin, which lowers desired anti-blooding level.
4) The choice of different types of cuffs must be individualized depending on primarily proper
fit to a patient and surgical procedures. Wrong selection of a cuff may give rise to
unexpected result far beyond the desired effectuation.
5) When fitting to the upper level of arms or thigh, the thickest part in a cuff must be
applied for the fit.
6) The pressure level imposed to a cuff must be minimized as possible as you can as a means of
preventing from possible impact to blood vessels, nerver, muscular system and skin.
7) In general, it shall be recommended that the fix time through a tourniquet be elapsed not
exceeding 60 min for the upper extremity and 90 min for the lower extremity. When required for
further application, make the tightening strength loose for 15 min tentatively to reduce
inflammatory response.
8) In case of double cuff, be careful of its application. When operation starts, the red-color
cuff is first operated in case of CH1, contrary to the blue-color cuff being operated first in
case of CH2, while the gray-color cuff is operated only by pressing "Cuff Change" button.
9) When cuffs are fit to the patient, continuously monitor the body temperature, blood pressure
and pain.
10) In case that a cuff of 2CH is additionally applicable, take heed of wrong cuff not to be
inflated or discharged; CH1 for blue color and CH2 for red color.
11) For next use, the cuffs used should be disinfected properly.
