READING REPORT SPENG20 Technical Writing

in (Course Code & Description)
Date: March 22, 2022

The title of the book/ article I have read is:

AUTHOR’S LOGIC: The author is conveying the message/idea of: Naveen Kumar Dubey (2018)
Example: “Green” branding of businesses has gone too far and no longer carries the same sort of impact it once did. Today, so many people
are concerned with the environment that many businesses try to represent themselves as being “green.” They want to have a reputat ion for
being environmentally conscious.
Technical writing in English is a valuable tool for expressing or transmitting one's thoughts, points of
view, observations, instructions, and recommendations in a more logical and technical way. Technical
writing in English in the discipline of engineering requires certain registers, organization, and language
sets. Technocrats and professionals must have strong technical writing abilities in order to provide
reports, presentations, documentation, and so on. Because technical writing in English is employed
for a particular purpose, it must be exact, relevant, and free of repetition.

STUDENT’S LOGIC: Provides learners with an opportunity to reflect and think about how they actually solve problems and
how a particular set of problem solving strategies is appropriate for achieving their goal. What is to be accomplished/learned?
Example: In support of the Supermarket “Green” initiatives, I bring my own shopping bags for grocery shopping and say no to plastic
bags.
In support to the article above, a technical writing is different from creative writing. Technical
writing should be more direct or straightforward, relevant, logical, coherent, and concise in
delivering messages and/or information. For example, writing a memorandum, a bill, an exam, and
more
that are related to professional works. It is pivotal in teaching field because teachers need to
write a lesson plan, create an exam, and instruct students.
