STATEMENT OF PURPOSE- University of Aberdeen

According to my research, data has become the new oil that helps organizations go forward.
Organizations are becoming more aware of the value of making data-driven decisions across a variety of
industries, including healthcare, finance, and pharmaceuticals. During Covid-19, the majority of the
processes began to take place online. As everything was conducted online, a substantial amount of data
was produced through these procedures. which expedited the development of data scientists in India.
So, this course will help me in examining the many business tactics that can be used to compete in the
global market and access certain international markets. That is why I want to pursue my higher
education in Master of Science in Data Science at the University of Aberdeen.

According to my academic record, I did my matriculation from the Punjab Secondary Educational Board
in 2007. While in the tenth grade, I received good grades in science, which fostered the development of
my interest in the science sector. I, therefore, decided to complete my intermediate in the science
stream under the same board in 2009. I've always been interested in programming and the technical
industry, and after finishing my intermediatory, I was offered a position as a computer operator at
Infowiz, a software company, where I worked from 2009 to 2014. where my responsibilities were setting
up computers and other hardware devices, meeting with the IT team to define the order of operations,
and many other things. Following that, I realized I was lacking in understanding and information
regarding this specific sector. So, I chose to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Administration,
which I completed in 2017. With this course's knowledge and skills, I began working as a computer
trainee at Shiva Institute, where I train and instruct students, learners, and end-users in computer
operations. As well as I used to design and construct computer instructional material for end-users and
learners. I am still in this position, but at this point in my career, I feel the need to develop foreign
expertise in the field of data science, which is why I want to enroll at this university. I already passed
IELTS on February 25th, 2021, and scored 6.0.

I decided to pursue an MSc in data science since there is a growing need for data scientists across all
business sectors, including healthcare, technology, finance, retail, and other areas. This program will
prepare me for the rising employment opportunities in this industry by teaching me the critical
computational thinking (CT) and data analysis abilities required by businesses today. The course includes
modules on machine learning, programming basics, data science basics, advanced statistics and special
applications, and many others. The introduction to the programming module will teach me high-level
languages such as R and Python, as well as connections to database languages such as MySQL and
MongoDB. Advanced statistics and specific applications will assist me in learning advanced and cutting-
edge statistical tools and procedures. I believe that by using all of these methods, I will be able to obtain
a thorough understanding of this field.

The University of Aberdeen is my number option because it is consistently ranked among the top 200
universities in the world. which is a positive point for me as it allows me to obtain a high level of
understanding for my chosen course. I feel with the improved knowledge and abilities gained from this
university, I'll have a competitive advantage over other job candidates. Everything I'll need is close by to
the University of Aberdeen, which means I'll save money on transportation, which is also a plus for me.
To advance my career, I want to pursue a degree at this university.

The United Kingdom has long been a popular student destination due to its highly regarded universities,

degrees are highly respected internationally, doing a Masters's degree from there could be a wise career
move for me.

A thorough education in this MSc in Data Science program would help with the development of
analytical techniques as well as an awareness of the development of both domestic and foreign
businesses. My short-term objective is to advance in reputable firms such as Tata Consultancy Service,
Tech Mahindra, etc. as a Data Analyst. On the other hand, in the long run, I would like to launch my own
company where I would assist others in using efficient ways to enhance their business and data
management capacities.

I'm confident that by enrolling in this university's course, I will be able to develop both technical and
analytical skills. I am sure that the university will benefit from my excellence and dedication to my
studies. I want the university to allow me the opportunity to develop my skills and work toward my
career objectives.
