used a flat for his personat purpose, the rent of which at the rate of Rs 5,000 per month and
electricity charges at an average rate of Rs. 2,000 per month were paid from the business
account. During the year he sold his 7% Government bond of Rs. 40,000 at 2% premium and
brought that money into the business. Besides this there is no other information. You are

required to prepare a statement of profit or loss.

delivery of the goods after spending Rs 24000 for duty and clearing charges. They sold % of
the goods for Rs 1,40,000 for which a commission 6% on gross sales is payable. Their sales

expenses amounted to Rs 4,800. Prepare journal and ledger accounts of both the parties.
29. "Single entry system of book-keeping is an unscientific, incomplete and defective system".

30. Mr. A is the holder of a license to impert a bexuty cream from Japan. On Jan 1, 2000 he gave

the license to Moon Health Club, imbai tn use it for a period of ten years. The following

relate to the agreement:


1. Royalty is Rs 50 per kg of beauty cream imported for the first three years and thereafter @2

Rs 60 per kg.
2. Minimum rent is Rs 12,500 for the first year, Rs 15,000 each for the next two years and

Rs 20,000 each for every year thereafter.

3. Shortworkings, if any, should be recovered within the subsequent two years of the year of
