LESSON PLAN IN PRACTICAL RESEARCH II – GRADE 12

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:


a. identify the scope and delimitation of a study;
b. perform small group discussion in coming up a scope and delimitation; and
c. appreciate the essence of scope and delimitation in conducting a study.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic : INDICATES SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF RESEARCH

B. LESSON PROPER

B.1 ACTIVITY (5 minutes)


“ORGANIZE ME!”
The students will be grouped into 5 small groups. Each group will have an
envelope of words to arrange according to its classification using their own
creative graphic organizer.
Note: This activity will help you assess the skills of your learners to categorize
things according to its classification.

B.2 ANALYSIS (5 minutes)


Let the students think of what they have understood about the activity
using the following questions:
1. How do you find the activity?
2. How did you classify the things given? What did you consider?
3. Do you think it is a must for us to know whom we talk to and the
scope of the things that we wanted to know?

B.3 ABSTRACTION (15 minutes)


(Method: Performance- based instruction)

Hand-outs will be distributed. The class will be divided into groups. Each group
will select a presenter based on the assigned topic given by the teacher.
Scope- it is the section of a research paper that explains what information or
subject is being analyses.

Delimitation- is the explanation of the scope of the study. This section allows the
writer to explain why certain aspects of a subject were chosen.

Teacher’s Task: The teacher will give inputs to enlarge the discussion and give
more ideas without deleting the students’ output.
Enrichment: Video Clip Presentation about Creating Scope and Delimitation

B.4 APPLICATION (10 minutes)

Each group will create two paragraph composition stating the scope and
delimitation of a given research title. Factors and standards in writing should be
clearly seen in the output.

IV. EVALUATION

Paper-pencil test. (10 minutes)


The learners will read different examples of scope and delimitations. 30 points

V. ASSIGNMENT

Look for a research title whether in the library or in the internet and write its scope
and delimitation. Do not forget to include the title and the publication year.
