INTRODUCTION

A school educational strategy that aims to train and prepare students for
job and future professions requires a BS Office Administration Internship
Program. It is a type of skill development in which a specialist figures out how to
complete the work using detailed insight. Work Training is a technique in which
understudies are exposed to various work situations in order to give them the
opportunity to encounter and apply the theories and calculations that they have
learned in school. It also helps understudies gain relevant information and
abilities by acting in a real work setting.
BS Office Administration Internship Program is critical not only to show
understudies their chosen professions, but also to show understudies the reality
of working. The students will be exposed to real-world business related to the
course they are taking. It also allows those with no experience to work and
advance at the same time. Hands-on preparation allows the learner to delve
deeper into her chosen field and put what he has learned in school into practice.
It aids in the organization of the learner's ability. Aside from job knowledge, On-
the-Job Training allows students to meet genuine experts and people in various
positions within the organization, both high and low. The learner will genuinely
want to understand how to adapt to the personalities and perspectives of others.
Hands-on Training necessitates effort and realism. A learner should take OJT
seriously because it could be a valuable asset in preparing for the next stage of
life as an expert. It could be a source of inspiration when they make the big leap
from understudy to vocation expert someday.

RATIONALE

BS Office Administration Internship Program is a six unit course for

Department of Office Administration seniors. The Supervised Field Experience
Program has a number of advantages that can help learners land jobs. Students
can learn the necessary knowledge and skills linked to work habits to compete in
the labor market. Individuals will also benefit from the training in order to improve
their professionalism and interpersonal skills, which are essential for success in
the job. On-the-job trainees will feel like more productive members of the
company, not just better employees. Regardless, previous internship experience
demonstrates that you are dedicated to gaining professional knowledge and that
you have the competence to assist you in your next employment. On-the-job
training is critical because it transfers classroom skills to the real world and
teaches students how to create in a more mature environment. Students may
develop new skills that they can use in a variety of settings. After their on-the-job
training is done, many students may continue working for an employer.

COMPANY PROFILE

A. History
During the early 1990's large chains of drugstores started putting up
branches in Bukidnon, specifically in the cities of Malaybalay and Valencia.
Naturally, the owners of the small drugstores not only in the cities mentioned but
in the nearby municipalities were quite anxious of the presence of these giant
drug companies.
The notion of forming cooperative among Pharmacists was conceived try
Mr. Crispin R. Doldolea, a Pharmacist and a Cooperative Worker. He was also
supported by Mrs. Raymunda Villahermosa, owner of the largest drugstore in
Valencia City and by then, President of the Bukidnon Pharmaceutical
Association, Mrs Guadalupe C. Tubio. Thus, the birth of the Bukidnon
Pharmaceutical Multipurpose Cooperative (BUPHARCO) came about as a
project of the Bukidnon Pharmaceutical Association.
With the organization of BPHARCO, the Pharmacists felt they had a better
chance of competing with the chain of drugstores. With their funds pooled
together, the Pharmacist-owners could new purchase directly from the suppliers
and also avail of volume discounts: thus the decrease in costs of good sold
allowed them to lower their selling prices to competitive standards.
BUPHARCO is the first of its kind in the Philippines. Despite attendant
pains that accompany births, the cooperative was finally organized in September
13, 1994. It was first registered with Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)
Region X on October 2, 1995. There were initially only fifteen Pharmacists who
bonded together to form BUPHARCO. Initial capitalization was only Php
150,000.00. Over the years, the coop's membership and have grown. On
November 10, 2004, its registration as amended to expand its area of operation
and its capitalization. It opened its doors to non-Pharmacists accepting them as
associate members.
Initially, the coop was created to serve the interests of the Pharmacists but
over the years, the essence of cooperativism was inculcated in the minds of the

officers, staff and members so that now it strives to serve the welfare not just of
the shareholders but also the communities serves.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SUPERVISED FIELD EXPERIENCE
PROGRAM

This experience taught me more than anyone else. It's amazing because
they associated us with anything in the pharmacy so that we'll be ready if we plan
to work there part-time in the future. Many customers feel furious if their
prescription takes long time or if it is not available. I understand that pharmacies
deal with a lot of rude people, and I've seen how frustrating it can be, but I was
amazed by how gently the pharmacists managed these problems, no matter how
enraged the customers seemed. I'm deeply interested in pharma, and this work
experience helped me to figure out what I want to do in the coming years.
I discovered that some drugs required clearance from a physician before
being disposed of or sold to customers. Antibiotic intake has to be supervised by
authorized persons, just like antiobics. I also learnt how to utilize the counting pill
tray correctly, which is used to measure tablet, capsules, and gelcaps that are
bottled but sold separately or retailed. Cycle counting is the way by which they
maintain track of orders, expiration dates, the amount of products remained on
their system, the amount of products left in reality, and other information. I need
to take down a list of the medications and verify the Pos system for price and
quantity, then verify the expiration dates of the medicines and count them to
determine the exact number of medicines in the pharmacy. Following that, I'll
determine whether the variants are negative or positive. Positive variants indicate
that the real number of medicines in the pharmacy exceeds the quantity in the
POS machine.
It's all about organization at the pharmacy. Even one improperly filed
paper might cause a cascade of problems, frustrating customers. No matter how
hurried you are, you must return everything to its proper place before going.

10
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

The pharmacy's busyness makes it difficult to prevent problems. No

matter how successful you are at what you are doing, what company you are in,
or how it would be located, you will encounter an upset consumer at a certain
point. You will develop self - confidence to calm a tense situation and generate a
positive conclusion if you can turn a furious consumer into a satisfied customer.
Most people naturally turn and leave when faced with an upset customer.
Dealing with a customer who is furious about a problem might be scary. If you
keep the appropriate attitude, however, you'll realize that the consumer's criticism
is actually an opening for you and your organization to excel.
Due to the mask and outside noises, I'm having trouble understanding
them from the outside, but we read carefully each prescription to the customers
to check that it's the medication they need before confirming the purchase. This
problem could lead to confusion or inaccurate prescription giving, resulting in
angry or irritated clients. Because some drugs are similar, it is usual to prescribe
the incorrect one. When a manager is cranky, it affects everyone at work,
including those who are under their control. Furthermore, negative attitudes have
a negative impact on performance, leaving employees unsatisfied and
depressed. There will be more mistakes, and productivity will be lower. Having
the right mentality at workplace is more important than having a bad attitude. It is
often considered that if you chose a career that you love, you will never be bored
at work.
As a trainee, it is vital that i convey the appropriate message. A negative
approach can be unhealthy since it creates problems and promotes negativity in
the business. Other employees' productivity suffers as a result. As a result,
creating a positive work environment is crucial. Keep your employees satisfied
and empowered. These would be ten steps for dealing with a poor work mindset.

11
LESSONS LEARNED
During my 300 hours as a student trainee at BUPHARCO Pharmacy, I
learnt how to properly handle customers and converse with a variety of people. I
also learnt to be patient in order to maintain control, especially in stressful
situations. Working with people from various backgrounds improved my soft skills
such as communication and teamwork. Critical thinking and problem-solving
abilities were also quite important.

I learnt how to update process workflows, increase safety standards for

something specific, such as enhancing the pharmacy website, and how
pharmacists and pharmacy assistants communicate with one another, among
other things.

I also learnt that staying even-tempered and listening without being

defensive are important components of any contact, whether it's with an angry
customer or a member of your staff. In this case, I've finally used what I learnt in
school in terms of assessing the situation, which is to remain calm. Change your
perspective. Recognize their distress. Make an introduction. Get to know the
person you're speaking with. Listen. Reply to the consumer with their concerns.
Apologize, sympathize, and sympathize. Provide a solution. Thank the client.
Relax and breathe deeply.

Now if the client is still upset, you may disagree with the criticism and even
consider it a personal attack. Just remember that these are preceptors who are
taking time out of their day to help you improve. You can only improve and learn
from whatever comments you receive, no matter how negative it is. Be careful
not to offend the preceptor when responding to feedback. Even if you disagree, it
is best to thank them for their time and show respect. Negative responses to
comments may result in a bridge being burnt. You never know who will be
looking over your employment application in the future.

12
CONCLUSIONS

I can honestly state that being a part of BUPHARCO makes me extremely

happy and contented. I suppose I might say that I gained some very eye-opening
experiences here. I recognize I will face many challenges as a member of this
institution from the moment I step foot here, but I also realize I will learn
something new about the possible work I will like to do in the industry.
I learned something new. I'm learning new skills. I met a variety of people.
I can conclude that my own perspective gained at BUPHARCO has prepared me
not just for the present realities of finding work, but also for the future. Indeed, I
may be one of those offer the chance for a stable job at some point in the future.
Additionally, not only do you need a stable job, but you also need a good
company like BUPHARCO. The entire OJT journey was an incredible memory to
reminisce about. Throughout your working days, you will learn that the most
important factor is your attitude, as well as your knowledge and skills in analyzing
any scenario or assignment that has been handed to you. The importance of
learning from your errors since they can help you become a better person.
"Internship here at BUPHARCO helps me build myself up for my future
opportunities, as well as turning out to be more successful in handling people
around me," I can state. All of us would believe that experience is the great
educator, and nothing can come near to the knowledge that it can bring for us. It
may be difficult at first, but as we learn to enjoy and love what we're doing, it
becomes easier and more straightforward.

13
SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The time we spent with BUPHARCO was a fantastic experience, but it

was not permanent. I agree that the number of hours spent on this temporary
position program should be increased so that students can learn more, get better
preparation, and be exposed to extra responsibilities. The student suggests that
the organization conducts student management and checking in phases. During
their entry-level job training, encourage them to accomplish their tasks thoroughly
and accurately. This will also foster a close working relationship between
academic and field supervisors, allowing for effective evaluation of assistants'
field work. When creating a planning system, keep in mind the various learning
styles of your colleagues and try to come up with something that appeals to them
all.
Be mindful of students worries, whether they are physical, intellectual, or
psychological. Recognize that some students have demanding work
environments, home responsibilities, and school obligations to manage, leaving
them exhausted and depleted. For their sake and psychological well-being, be
more sensitive in replying to them when they request inclinations toward or
clarification of some pressing topics. Encouragement and understanding of
students' thoughts and opinions, building connections with students' experiences,
and providing key options and entryways are all examples of a teacher's
appreciation for students' perspectives.
