One of the motivations for Brigada Eskwela is knowing the fact that the environment
plays an enormous role in the student’s learning. The schools and classrooms, as well as the
facility that are not conducive to learners hinder the quality of learning that they will be getting.
So, the initiative of the DepEd to have a spirit of volunteerism, Bayanihan as we Filipinos call it
to clean up and repair the school and its facility before the opening of the class is one of the
best activities that San Jose Panlumacan Integrated School is proud of every year.
Parents, school alumni and other people from the community were encouraged to join
the week - long annual program. Since no national government money was put into Brigada
Eskwela, private businesses, NGO’s, private individuals and local government were tapped to
solicit donations to cover the effort of repair and maintenance of the school.
Here’s The Highlight of Brigada Eskwela’22 “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na
Balik-Aral”
Early morning of August 02, 2022 Brigada Eskwela, teachers, stakeholders and NGOs
participated on the Brigada Eskwela Kick Off. The kick-off started with a motorcade, teachers
and school head participated and even some stakeholders were there too, to support the
Brigada Eskwela. Right after the parade, and opening program was conducted in our school.
Which is attended by the Stakeholders, teachers, school head and the city mayor of San
Fernando to make sure that the Brigada Eskwela will be conducted successfully. During the
opening program in our school, the in charge of Brigada Eskwela talk about everything about
the schedules, work assignment and other concerns for Brigada Eskwela. After the program,
teachers and volunteers from different organizations went to their respective tasks.
Believing that the school cannot stand without the community, and likewise the
community without the school. The activity went well, and some best practices were also
observed.
The first day of Brigada Eskwela turned out beautiful because of the people in the
community. The parents were present with tools in their hands ready for cleaning. There are a
lot of LGUs went to the school to provide help such as the DENGUE VECTOR
SURVEILLANCE ACTIVITY and even the Bureau of Fire and Protection double checked our
school to prevent any dangerous hazard that might happen in the future.
Overall, the opening program was successful. It turned to understand the real essence of
Brigada Eskwela. It turned out that the stakeholders and volunteers were able to understand
clearly the reason for Brigada Eskwela initiative, and it is nothing but for good, and for the sake
of the learners.
The second day of Brigada Eskwela focused on weeding of grounds and clearing of
rooms. The stakeholders and volunteers started arriving at 7:00 in the morning. They were

teachers, and school staffs were still eager on making the campus cleaner and greener, and we
are thankful that parents and volunteers are still active. And still on full support for the
beautification of the school. Luckily indeed, San Jose Panlumacan Integrated School has a very
supportive community.
On August 12, 2022 before the brigade eskwela 2022 ends the Pandayan and some
more volunteers made an appearance and made sure that they would also be part of said
activity for the school. Through the overwhelming support of the said people above the school
now is in excellent condition and is now ready for the school opening. There were also a lot of
donations such as cleaning materials, painting materials and more.
