1. Explain social work and SWA
- social work is profession that promotes the well-being of individuals specially the vulnerable sectors.
social work administration is the method used in social work in administering the different services
offered by the profession
2. Discuss the following concepts.
A. Social Planning- the concept of social planning is used for in formulating policies for the community.
The people of the society are involved in the planning because they are the basis for the policies that are
being created.
B. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT- The concept of sustainable development is the ability of meeting the
current needs while ensuring that the ability of the future generation to meet their needs wont be
compromised.
C. PARTICIPATORY DEVELOPMENT- the concept of participatory development is the community and the
people are a contributory factor for the development where in there is a need for the participation and
engagement of the people in order to attain development.
D.GOAL ORRIENTED DEVELOPMENT-
Goal oriented development means there is a set goal or plan that is the basis for the development. The
goals are set before the conduct of the project and the main focused of this development is to achieved
the goals that was set.
E. GAD- Gender and Development with this concept, it's essence is to involve every gender. Its focused
on the inclusivity and not exclusivity. The goal is to let everyone regardless of the gender, participate
and have the same equal privilege in all aspects of life.
3. Cite Example of the following
A. EMPOWERMENT AND RESILIENCY MODEL- this model of helping is about empowering others and
help them cope up or recover from their situation.
Example: empowering the victims of a typhoon who loss their love ones and who's their properties are
destroyed by the typhoon. Helping them to not loose hope and helping them to cope up after the
disaster both physically and mentally is an example of Empowerment and Resiliency method of helping
clients.
Another example is helping rape victims to get over the trauma from the rape and empowering them to
move forward for a better future and stand up and recover from the trauma through different helping
methods such as counselling and letting her meet people who suffered the same experience as she did
and get motivated to recover from the trauma.
B. RIGHTS BASED APPROACH- it is based on rights, since every individual is a rights holder every
individual who are violated are helped through this approach. Example: a child that is abused by his/her
parents is helped though this approach where in the R.A. 7610 or the Special Protection For Children
against abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination is a rights to protect the children against abuses and
other laws that protects the child.
Another is the RA 9262 OR THE Anti-Violence Against Women and Children where in its purpose is to
protect the women and children from violence.
C. STRENGTH BASED APPROACH-
In this model it focuses on the strength of the clients/ individuals and use the strength of the client to
help itself in improving his/her situation.
Examples: having a family as a client. The father was jobless but he is a former gardener of a company.
He is good at taking care of plants and landscaping. We will used his strength to help him have a job.
Either we refer him to other companies that needs gardener or help him put up his own business that
involves plants.
The wife is also jobless but she used to work in a factory that sews rags. We can use her strength in
sewing and help her build her own business at home in sewing rags by giving her assistance to buy
sewing machine and materials to start with her business. Or refer her to tesda to gain further and new
knowledge and technique about sewing.
4. DIFFERENTIATE A PROJECT AND A PROGRAM-
Project, in my own understanding, project refers to the general plans for a certain policy. It consist the
ideas like plans and programs under it. Example is the Project Bayanihan under the duterte
administration its goals is to provide help and bayanihan during the pandemic. On the other hand,
Programs are the specific activities that are set to be conducted under the project bayanihan. These
specific activities are the relief distribution, and The social amelioration program or the SAP is an
example of program.
