CT Ual value is decided on the highest value obtained for the formulae 1 to 5 mentioned above.

Total fault Impedance for end of zone1 fault = Zs+Zl = (Sqrt(Xs+Xl)^2+(Rs+Rl)^2)


Sqrt((3.476+8.708)^2+(0.204+0.451)^2)
= 12.202 Ohms
Fault Current for end of zone1 fault = Ph.vol./Ph.Imp.
= (380*1000/ (12.202 x sqrt(3)))
= 17980.094 A

Ikzone1 (Flt.current/CT ratio) = (17980.094 x 1 / 2000) = 8.990 A

Through Fault Current calculation


Fault Impedance = Zs+Zl = (Sqrt(Xs+Xl)^2+(Rs+Rl)^2)
Sqrt((3.476+10.885)^2+(0.204+0.564)^2)
= 14.382 Ohms
Through Fault Current = Ph.vol./Ph.Imp.
= (380*1000/ (14.382 x sqrt(3)))
= 15254.8 A

Itmax (Flt.current/CT ratio) = (15254.8 x 1 / 2000) = 7.627 A

= 18.06 Ohms
Fault Current for end of zone1 fault = Ph.vol./Ph.Imp.
= (380*1000/ (18.06 x sqrt(3)))
= 12148.02 A

Ikzone1 (Flt.current/CT ratio) = (12148.02 x 1 / 2000) = 6.074 A

X/R ratio for end of zone1 single phase fault = (Xs+Xl)/(Rs+Rl)


= (3.476+14.473)/(0.204+1.767)
= 9.11

Sys. Time const. for end of zone1 1ph.fault = (X/R ratio)/(2*PI*F) =(9.11) / (2 x 3.14 x 60)
= 24.17 ms

Fault current (Close-up fault)

Fault Current = 63000 A

IF2 (Flt. current/CT ratio) = (63000 x 1 / 2000) = 31.5 A

X/R ratio = 17.00

System time constant for close-up fault = (X/R ratio)/(2*PI*60) = (17) / (2 x PI x 60)
= 45.09 ms
