CHAPTER 4 POLYGONS

4.1 Regular Polygons. 4.1 Poligon Sekata.

Regular polygons are polygons for which all sides are equal and all interior angles are of the same size.
Regular polygons have congruent interior angles. Irregular polygons are polygons with irregular sides.
Polygon sekata ialah polygon yang semua sisinya sama panjang dan semua sudut pedalamannya sama saiz.
Poligon sekata mempunyai sudut pedalaman yang kongruen. Poligon tak sekata ialah poligon dengan sisi tak
sekata.
Regular Polygons. Poligon Sekata. Irregular Polygons. Poligon tak sekata.

SELF PRACTICE 4.1 (p.61)

4.2.1 (p.62-63)

*Interior angle of regular polygon = 1/n [(n − 2) × 180°]

5. Total sum of interior angles of a polygon = number of triangles × 180°

= (n - 2) x 180o

Example 2: State the number of triangles formed for each of the following polygon.

(a) 13 sided polygon (b) 18 sided polygon

Solution:

4.2.1 Total sum of interior angles *Total sum of interior angles of a polygon = (n – 2) × 180°
3
Polygon Number of sides (n) Number of triangle Total sum of interior
(n–2) angles, (n – 2) × 180°
