Introduction to Sparta Battery

What is Sparta?
Sparta offers full control, monitoring and tracking of batteries. Sparta allows for the
following:

1. Complete knowledge of the location, condition and functionality of the battery;

2. Concealed device with no ability to locate or remove;

3. Cloud servers monitored 24/7;

4. Real time alerts delivered to the user via email, sms or an advanced interface;

5. Minimal energy consumption;

6. Unlimited units and unlimited system users

Unit Connector
Sparta uses a standard 12 pin harness. 4 pins are used for the battery tracker as follows

In general, Sparta needs only connection to the power and to the ground. The sensors
will then communicate directly from Sparta to Galooli servers. In case external sensors
need to be connected, RS485 connectors are available as per the following pin-out
diagram.
Sparta Installation & Configuration
For the installation you need to be equipped with:

ZON MAX and Power Center installed on your computer


RS485 USB converter

Installation and configuration process:

1. Open the ZON MAX. you will see the units in grey (disconnected status).

2. Connect the unit to the battery. Make sure both LEDS are turning on and start blinking.
3. Wait a few minutes (5-10) so the unit will establish the communication to the server.
Once the communication is established, the unit icon on ZON will turn into yellow color
(please note that it might take more than 10 minutes). if there is no communication after
20 minutes, please contact support.
4. After the communication is established, open the Power Center.
5. Connect to the unit via OTA. Use your ZON credentials on the pop-up window. See
below picture:
6. Upload unit parameters. Don’t forget to click Read Configuration after you get the unit’s
status
7. Attach and fasten the unit to the battery’s body.
8. Storage mode - When you finish to check the configuration and the settings, you can put
the unit on Storage mode by clicking on the Storage Mode button.

9. After you see that both LEDS are turning off, you can close the cover carefully.
