STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

We live in a society which is driven by technology. The working environment in the entire world is
changing very fast. The world is shifting from the traditional style of working environment to more
and more sophisticated and techno savvy one. To accomplish this transformation, the companies
around the world are taking recourse of advanced technology and extensively using computers. In
fact, acquiring the latest technology and going for Computer Software & Database Development has
become main means of doing business in the current world. This increasing demand of software
development has led to the flourishing of the IT consultancy industry world over. As I always want to
work in an environment which recognizes my passion towards computers and technology, I decided
to acquire the skills which are needed to be a professional software developer in India

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:-
Starting with my academics, I completed my matriculation from Lord Jesus Public School, Gurgaon
in year 2012 with 69% and my senior secondary education from Lord Jesus Public School, Gurgaon
in year 2014 with 71.6%. As I have a keen interest in computers and programming, since the time I
first interacted with computer, this small device and its features amazed me. I have always tried to
keep myself updated with latest evolving software and its applications. This evolving tech savvy
world, always triggered in me the keen interest to develop innovative software and to become an IT
professional. Thus for my bachelors, I decided to go with my interest. Therefore, I decided to pursue
Bachelors of Computer Applications, and got enrolled in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashta
University, New Delhi. I successfully completed my bachelors in year 2017 with 75%. I gained good
theoretical knowledge of subjects like Computer Network, Database System, Data Structure,
Programming, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, and Communication Systems during my
graduation period. Even though I have good knowledge of programming, I always had a keen
interest in database systems.

My strength has always been towards computers which made me take up a discipline in Computer
Applications that would allow me to explore more in the best possible ways. With subjects like Java
and database excited me and divulged the limitless portion in the field of computers. It was indeed a
great experience studying in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashtha University where I gained strong
theoretical knowledge as well as practical applications. Even though I have studied in India, I lacked
practical knowledge which is needed to work as Software/Database Developer in top IT companies in
India.

I have a year and three months of experience in the field of Software Engineering as a Manual
Tester and I’m currently working for Infosys Ltd, Hyderabad. Coming from Bachelor in Computer
Applications background and working for a Tech Giant like Infosys Ltd and an Esteemed Client like
Carefirst BCBS, USA, I’ve always felt there is need for a Computer Science graduate like myself to
work upon upgrading my technical skills through practical expertise in latest technologies and to
explore other domains in field of Software Engineering such as Database Programming. Thus to lead
my career in the right direction, I decided to pursue Computer Software & Database Development
Ontario College Graduate Certificate Program.
WHY GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SOFTWARE AND DATABASE DEVELOPMENT?

Opting for Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Software and Database Development will allow me
to fully develop my knowledge areas in the area of my interest (Database and Software). The Post
Graduate Diploma in Computer Software and Database Development is designed to provide both the
knowledge and the technical skills needed to successfully compete in this environment. It is uniquely
focused to address the current need of software companies, through investigation of both the
theoretical and the practical aspects of this continually evolving field. The major coursework of this
course provides a hands-on environment allowing me to evaluate, design, and implement
software applications for the three-tier client, server, and database environment. In the final
academic term, I will also be able to explore emerging technologies that are becoming relevant in
their field.

The subjects which interest me the most to study in this course are Microsoft C# and Oracle Java
programming languages as well as the Oracle and IBM DB2 databases. This course will give me the
ability to use problem solving and critical thinking skills to analyze business and industry
requirements and design, develop and implement real life database-driven enterprise web
applications. A valuable co-op option in the senior semesters will give me an opportunity to apply
learning to the real world.

WHY LAMBTON COLLEGE?

The first and foremost reason to select Canada, and, in particular, Lambton College, was that I could
realize the importance of an international education even in college. The subject matter is vastly
different and much more holistic than that taught in my college. Lambton College suits my interests
because of its advanced academic curriculum and world-class facilities. I believe that it is the best
environment for me to achieve my goals. Studying here would broaden my horizon for personal as
well as my professional life that will fulfill my dream to work with Indian Government to provide best
technological solutions in short duration. Also, Lambton College will provide me with a chance to
meet different people and experience new cultures which is extremely important for any
professional, due to the increasing globalization of businesses and industries. Moreover, Database
and computer Software department in the College will give the opportunity to work on a greater
range of group work and hence will help me develop various practical transferable skills such as
teamwork, identifying and solving problems. I also believe that stimulating discussions with my peer
group and tutelage of the distinguished faculty will add significantly to my knowledge and abilities. I
believe that no other school provides students with the combination of culture, education and
research environment, required for an overall personality development, as offered by Lambton
College.

of the most developed countries in the world. The best thing about this country is that it welcomes

Canada is my study destination of choice because of its first-rate education system, cost-
effectiveness both in terms of educational programs as well as living cost, cultural diversity and
favorable climate. Canada’s institutes provide the best educational infrastructure to their students,
which is essential in this tech-driven age. I choose Canada, last but not least, for its natural beauty
and incomparable spectrum of landscapes, which beckon to travelers, and I am an avid traveler
myself.

FINANCIAL ABILITIES:-

CAD $16,170 of fee and CAD $10,200 as GIC amount has been paid.

Besides having funding that will cover all my expenses for 2 Years.

Also, my parent’s assets are worth of CAD $ 1,60,377.35 in the form of personal house, agricultural
land, bank savings , car ,cash in hand and jewellery and my parents has an annual income of CAD $
6800.

With the above mentioned financial in place I believe I have required funds to cover my tuition,
living expenses and also to meet unforeseen expenses that might arise.

FUTURE GOALS:-
I want to get better exposure in field of software development. Therefore, I honestly feel to master
the current database and software development concepts in the rich and flexible environment of
Lambton College in Canada. I would love to enrich myself in the post-graduate program, and
ultimately make a meaningful contribution in the ever growing field of Software. My long term goal
is to put my footprints in the field of database based computing environment through contribution
of original ideas and translating those ideas to end applications and products. In this Endeavour, I
want to contribute significantly to the human society in India. After completing this course I will
return back to India and work in India.

In coming years, many new smart cities going to be develop in India which will attract more IT and
services companies from all over the world to start their business or to increase their existing one. I
strongly believe that my knowledge in Database and Software Development will help me in develop
the necessary skills to carry out innovative solutions which will improve the accuracy and efficiency
of the systems and will enable me a head start in my country’s IT companies like HCL Technologies,
TCS, Wipro, Reliance, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Ericsson as a Computer Programmer, Software
Developer, Programmer Analyst, Mobile Application Developer, Information Systems Specialist ,Web
Developer, Client/server Applications Developer and Support Specialist.
