2. 1st Coat :Sikagard®-550 W Elastic (G)
3. 2nd Coat : Sikagard®-550 W Elastic (G)
2.1 REFERENCES
This method statement has been written in accordance with the recommendations contained in European Standards
EN 1504:
This method statement also makes references to the recommendations made in the ICRI Technical Guideline N°
03732 – 2002 relating to surface preparation for substrate.
2.2 LIMITATIONS
Products shall only be applied in accordance with their intended use.
For specific construction / build information refer to the Architect’s, Engineer’s or Specialist’s details,
drawings, specifications and risk assessments.
All work shall be carried out as directed by a supervising officer or a qualified engineer.

5 ENVIRONMENT
Do not empty surplus material into drains; dispose responsibly through licensed waste disposal
contractor in accordance with legislation and local / regional authority requirements. Avoid run off
onto soil or into waterways, drains or sewers.
6 SURFACE PREPARATION
The concrete shall be clean and free of dust, dirt, oil, efflorescence and any other residual coatings.
For thin film coating (e.g. Sikagard-550 W Elastic), preparation is best done by light blastcleaning, steam cleaning,
low pressure cleaning (less than 18 MPa - 180 bars), grinding, etc.
Concrete surface profile shall fit to CSP 1, 2 or 3 as per ICRI 03732-7.
For cement based product such as SikaTop 121 compound allow a curing time of at least 7 days before coating, only
Sikagard®-720 EpoCem® allow a curing time of at least 1 day before coating (refer to product data sheet for more
information)...
Sikagard®-700 S is applied using brush , roller or airless spray, working from top to bottom taking care not to let the product
run.
7.3 MIXING
The materials are supplied ready for use. Stir thoroughly prior to application
It is necessary to re-disperse all the pigments.
®
Note: A refreshing coat of Sikagard coatings can be applied without priming if the existing coat has been
thoroughly cleaned.

- Test description
The tests were developed according to the applicable sections of the UNE-EN 1062-7:2004.
The dynamic tensile test 1 (section C.3) for a class B (ANNEX B) of the UNE-EN 1062-7:2004
has been performed.
Prior to the test, an instant crack is created at the midpoint of the notch, with a crack width
of less than 100μm.
Given below the measure of the resistance to cracking of the coating is shown, according to
method B section 8 of the reference standard.
The test is developed with a crack width control by a COD extensometer.
The test consist of periodically change the width of the crack at the defined test temperature.
The curve is defined by the frequency f, the width w/2 and the average width of the crack.
For B 3.1 class test parameters are shown in the table 2 and figure 1.
Dossier number 15/10467-1097 Page 5

- Results
- Sample 1: After 1.000 cycles any crack appear in all the surface.
- Sample 2: After 1.000 cycles any crack appear in all the surface.
- Sample 3: After 1.000 cycles any crack appear in all the surface.
