SUNEEL PURANIK’s ACHIEVEMENTS AS A
CHAIRMAN AT KARNATAKA CHALANACHITRA
ACADEMY: Suneel puranik is an actor, director and producer with an experience of three decades in visual media. He is one of the senior most karyakartas of the sangha. He brings the perfect amalgamation of idealism and pragmatism to our country’s process of nation-building. He strives to be AT THE SERVICE OF NATION and the flag-bearer of Kannadiga pride. He upholds his core ideals strongly irrespective of the situation facing him, at the same time as relentless pursuing every objective that he has to accomplish.
Suneel puranik has been majorly influenced by
rashtriya seva sangha. He participated in the Shakha activities during school days in Dharwad and Hubli. He is been a part of Path Sanchalalan. He was teh active member of abvp and has attended Jansangh AT BJP and RSS conventions. He also has been immensely influenced by Shri Bhavurao Deshpande, Shri Jagannath Rao Joshi, Shri Atal Behari Vajapeyi, Shri narendra modiji and other revered patriots. Suneel puranik has played a key role in karnataka's political field. he has campaigned all over the state of karnataka twice, during the elections and submitted a detailed report regarding the situation of artists, development of various categories of arts, how to preserve the art forms that are perishing to then organizing secretary Sri BL Santhoshji. He has sincerely bow down to every instruction given by the bharatiya janata party and executed the same. He has been, like any other right-minded person, is concerned about the developments in the political arena and developed an understanding of the Idea of India, Hinduism, ideologies of our great personalities. He chose Film and TV industry as his career so that he gets a platform to voice his angst against the odds of the society. Like ANY NATIONALIST, Suneel Puranik, has also been mightily influenced by the mantra of Shri Narendra Modi’s - ‘Power is for serving not for Ruling’. 2009, karnataka chalanachitra academy was originally formed to imbue a cinematic culture and to create awareness which will pave the way for production of quality cinema. The prime objective of the Academy to build global podium for Kannada cinema and to expand its vistas by following the agenda set forthwith. Committing to the work with an immense faith in the right ideology and respect for bharatiya tradition, nationalist Suneel puranik took charge as the fifth chairman of karnataka chalanachitra academy on January 2nd 2020. The 12th edition of Bengaluru International Film Festival was held in Bengaluru headed by Suneel Puranik as the festival director. The Festival was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri B.S. Yediyurappa at Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in the presence of multilingual actors Mr. Yash & Ms. Jayaprada, veteran Bollywood film Producer Mr. Boney Kapoor and celebrated playback singer Mr. Sonu Nigam., where all of them are Nationalists and strongly believe in Dharma. The closing event was held at Vidhana Soudha and His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka Sri Vajubhai Vala has kindly consented to present the awards to the winners of the Competitions under Asian, Indian and Kannada films Sections.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FESTIVAL HEADED BY
SUNEEL PURANIK: 1. JURY: Asian Competition, Indian Competition, Kannada Competition and Kannada Popular Entertainment cinemas were selected by Jury team in which 40% were Sanskar Bharti members and 35% of the prominence was given to women. 2. THE STAGE: The stage was filled with saffron colour depicting the colour of the nation and dharma 3. CULTURAL PROGRAMMES: The cultural programmes were presented by a senior member of Sanskar Bharti and her team, which included all classical and folk forms of India. Also, the Nadageethe, pride of Karnataka was sung by one of the lead singers who is a member of Sanskar Bharati 4. RETROSPECTIVE: One of the main Retrospective was Sri Anant Nag, A nationalist, Multi lingual Legendary Actor who had been previously ignored at the festivals because of his Pro-Modi stand. 5. INCREDIBLE INDIA: Showcasing of films made in little known Indian dialects under special section “Unsung Incredible India” where the prominence was given to Nationalists. 6. LOCAL TO GLOBAL: Quite a good number of films participated this year in Asian Category and rest of the World have reputation of having participated in other major international film festivals of Berlin, Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Goa, Mumbai, Kerala etc. 7. SPECIALITY: Ten jury's from other states who were from Nation First Collective, NFC, For the first time in the history of BIFFs 8. FOLLOWING THE TRADITION: A special section focusing on the festival theme “Indian Traditional Music and Cinema” includes biographical films on pioneers of Indian classical music and also on musical films. 9. BIOPICS: There was also a special section on Biographical pictures generally referred to as “BIOPICS” which includes features/documentaries made on film makers, Writers, Artists, Musicians etc, The section included films on Russian Director Andrei Tarkovsky, Singer Helen Reddy, eminent Kannada writers Mr. S.L. Bhyrappa and Mr. Chandrashekara Kambar, Hindustani Classical Musicians Dr. Rajeev Taranath, Ms. Lalith Rao, and Ace Cinematographer V.K. Murthy 10. RIGHT DELEGATES: Invited delegates included film makers, journalists, Film Critics, Film festival Programmers, Academicians etc., from across the world. Large participation of Foreign Consulate officials, Foreign cultural organization representatives in India for the inaugural event. Indian delegates include filmmakers, Film Festival organisers/Programmers, Journalists and critics from Bengal, Maharashra, Rajasthan, North East, Delhi, Telengana, Kerala and Tamilnadu. Workshops, Seminars and Master Classes were held during the course of the Festival which was again headed by the Right minded Nationalists with a vast footfall. A BLESSING IN DISGUISE AT THE TIME OF COVID- 19 LOCKDOWN.
Soon after 2 months Suneel Puranik became the
President of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, COVID-19 Rakshasa had hit the nation. Being a brave man that he is, Suneel Puranik with great and valuable support from the Government of Karnataka had been able to address the woes of 15000 cinema workers who were directly and indirectly concerned. The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy Chief Suneel Puranik first met, Karnataka BJP Vice president Sri BY Vijayendra and addressed on the difficulty faced at the lock down period by Kannada cinema industry. He was accompanied by KFCC President DR Jairaj and noted producer Rockline Venkatesh. Soon after explaining the difficulties of 15000 workers of Kannada cinema industry to the Honourable CM of Karnataka, Sri Yediyurappa, 2 cr rupees were given. Like any loyal nationalist leader, Suneel Puranik stood like a father of the Kannada cinema industry to help at the difficult times. Now the issue was distribution of aid to the cinema industry – The Reliance Foundation released Rs.2 crores to the cinema industry to face the crisis period. Suneel puranik and academy staff, worked day and night to collect names, contact numbers of the artists and technicians and made sure 6000 cine families are fed. On an average it was Rs.3000 worth of goods one can buy from the Reliance outlets. Suneel Puranik went out of his way to help the abandoned north east people, distributed grocery kits to more than 100 people. Also, he heard the voices that demanded cash to meet the expenses at this Lock Down situation. Suneel Puranik then distributed 10kgs of Rice bags to the 300 needy people of Uttara Karnataka, with the help of Kalavidara Sangha. He again proved that he is the man of his words and will stand by his people at the difficult times. NEW DEVELOPEMENTS AT KARNATAKA CHALANACHITRA ACADEMY INITIATED BY SUNEEL PURANIK:

with all the major universities of karnataka to collaborate, promote and develop the culture of cinema. 2. bengaluru international film festival in the process of getting the accredetation from the internationally acclaimed – FIAPF, BELGIUM FOR 2021 3. has started an online film festival on the occassion of kannada rajyotsava from november 1st, screening the best of kannada movies on the karnataka chalanachitra academy website. the initiative has been grand success with minimum of 5000 people watching movies on the website every day. Suneel puranik has taken up several projects including belli hejje, belli mandala, ragional festivals etc to develope a healthy film culture in the state and adopted the motto of promoting 'education through cinema' for which he selected seven members for the academy who are all nationalists, dedicated themselves to the betterment of right education. these positions and work were pending for the last 5 years and suneel puranik has fulfilled it successefully. out of seven, three are rashtriya seva sangha karyakartas. mr. gopinath, who is sanskara bharthi karyakarta and secretary of film society has been appointed as a special member of academy. his name was proposed by suneel puranik to the general body and was accepted without a word of difference. SUNEEL PURANIK IS PLANNING TO SET UP A KANNADA FILM ARCHIVES AND A FILM MUSEUM: He is working on an ambitious plan to set up a state-of-the-art Kannada Film Archives and a Kannada Film Museum, has reached out to institutions and the public for archival material, including scripts, songs, posters, and beta copies of films. Suneel Puranik, KCA chairman, already reached out to directors and producers for material and information for both the archives and the museum. He has also sought help to locate negatives of old films and to identify people who own them. The film archives and the museum are expected to come up at the KCA headquarters at Nandini Layout. The National Film Archives of India (NFAI), Pune, has agreed to support the KCA in establishing a full-fledged archives of its own. Committee set up: A seven-member committee, set up in July by Suneel Puranik, has been tasked with studying and submitting a report on setting up the archives and the museum. “The main task of the committee is to formulate modalities for acquiring and preserving film prints, beta copies, publicity stills, songs, still photographs, and other things related to film and film culture of Karnataka and Kannada,” says Mr. Puranik, adding that the academy would restore and digitize films in phases. Materials and books Film-related materials and books in Kannada, Tulu, Kodava, Konkani, Byari, and Banjara languages can be donated to the academy. The KCA would preserve and restore them by making use of the financial assistance extended by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) apart from the funding the State government. The only driven force behind this huge and legendary task is Suneel Puranik. SUNEEL PURANIK'S FUTURE PLANS FOR KARNATAKA CHALANACHITRA ACADEMY:
Renovation of the academy building - the
building is drab and must be renovated to be vibrant and colorful to showcase the richness of our culture.
Cleaning the walls and windows from outside -
from past 11 years the outside portion of the academy building is not been cleaned. suneel puranik is initiating the cleanliness program on the lines of sri narendra modiji's swatch bharat abhiyan.
Parking lot, Landscaping and gardening - with
regard to the waste land around the academy, suneel puranik has decided to put it to use by creative landscaping. Multiplex complex with 4 theatres – to save the money we spend on booking theatres for festivals and screening.
Open café - an open cafe is must to the movie
goer's.
Recreation of Auditorium – to avoid spending
on the screening. Money can be generated by giving it out for rent and it can also be a rehearsal hall as there is no such facility in and around the area.

The importance of family structure, education and socialization in India. having visited various states and learning about their culture has inspired him to pursue a career in art, culture and politics.
