A BLESSING IN DISGUISE AT THE TIME OF COVID-
19 LOCKDOWN.

Soon after 2 months Suneel Puranik became the

President of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy,
COVID-19 Rakshasa had hit the nation. Being a
brave man that he is, Suneel Puranik with great
and valuable support from the Government of
Karnataka had been able to address the woes of
15000 cinema workers who were directly and
indirectly concerned.
The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy Chief
Suneel Puranik first met, Karnataka BJP Vice
president Sri BY Vijayendra and addressed on the
difficulty faced at the lock down period by
Kannada cinema industry. He was accompanied by
KFCC President DR Jairaj and noted producer
Rockline Venkatesh.
Soon after explaining the difficulties of 15000
workers of Kannada cinema industry to the
Honourable CM of Karnataka, Sri Yediyurappa, 2 cr
rupees were given. Like any loyal nationalist
leader, Suneel Puranik stood like a father of the
Kannada cinema industry to help at the difficult
times.
Now the issue was distribution of aid to the cinema
industry – The Reliance Foundation released Rs.2
crores to the cinema industry to face the crisis
period. Suneel puranik and academy staff, worked
day and night to collect names, contact numbers of
the artists and technicians and made sure 6000
cine families are fed. On an average it was Rs.3000
worth of goods one can buy from the Reliance
outlets.
Suneel Puranik went out of his way to help the
abandoned north east people, distributed grocery
kits to more than 100 people. Also, he heard the
voices that demanded cash to meet the expenses at
this Lock Down situation.
Suneel Puranik then distributed 10kgs of Rice bags
to the 300 needy people of Uttara Karnataka, with
the help of Kalavidara Sangha.
He again proved that he is the man of his words
and will stand by his people at the difficult times.
