What strategy: Eating food game & Song


How to implement:
1. The information I used: Hobbies: Food (candies, ice cream);
Character: timid and not willing to speak. Zero-based.
2. What I’m going to do:
① Translanguaging: show Luna the picture of food, and ask Luna “Do you like ice
cream?”
with TPR, translator, or speak a little Chinese.
② Guide Luna to answer “Yes, I do.”
③ Praise Luna with ice cream, and then use ManyCam effect to make teacher’s mouth
bigger and show Luna how to eat ice cream.
④ Invite Luna to eat ice cream with the teacher.
⑤ Play the song “Do You Like Broccoli Ice Cream?” and ask Luna to sing and dance
with the teacher. (Teacher will use some props.)
⑥ Praise Luna by showing heart finger and encourage her to give me a high five.

What strategy: Grocery cart activity & Gift rewards


How to implement:
1. The information I used: Hobbies: Food (eg: candies, ice cream)

① Prepare and open an EDB file “grocery cart activity”.
② Ask Luna to get one food at a time from the table; then lead Luna to say the key
words.
③ Ask Luna to put the chosen food in the grocery cart.
④ Then for every right answer, give Luna the authority to choose a gift and click or
circle a gift from the PowerPoint file.

2. What I’m going to do:
① Prepare the ice cream file and show it to Luna.
② Make a deal with Luna that if she can say out the words correctly and confidently, I
will let her make ice cream with me.
③ Ask follow-up questions about the food in this lesson. For example: What is it?
Luna: Ice cream.
④Invite Luna to make ice cream, then encourage and praise her more.
