4. What is quantitative research?

Quantitative research provides the purpose of data that can be effectively expressed using
statistics and numbers. It entails the gathering and analysis of numerical data. It is numerical
forms, objective thinking, statistical procedures, and measuring signals are all examples of
numerical forms. The fact that quantitative research exists. Meaningful expression
Specificity, particularity, or exactness of something can be expressed using numerals or a
collection of symbols. Quantitative research uses statistics to direct your attention to specific
topics. Quantitative research, which is based on scientific inquiry, include as data that is observed
or measured to investigate questions about a sample population.

5. What are the characteristics of quantitative research?

The characteristics of quantitative researcher are uses numbers and figures to denote a particular
thing. Characterized by objectiveness, in which only the real or factual, not the emotional or
cognitive existence of the object matters greatly to the artist, quantitative research is analogous to
scientific or experimental thinking.

6. What are the strengths of quantitative research?

Quantitative data offers a macro approach with all of the necessary features and larger samples.
The data in this type of study is in numeric data, which makes it easier to interpret.

7. How is quantitative research different from qualitative research?

The difference between the two is qualitative is subjective and sometimes personal engaged and
in data analysis and finding it is verbal language which contain words, visual and object while in
quantitative research it is objective and least involvement by the researcher and it is also
numerical and statistics.

Questions
8. What are the similarities and differences of the two basic types of experimental research?

True experimental research always uses random selection to determine who should be in the
experimental or control groups among the participants and it is controlled by the researchers. The
subjects for the quasi-experimental study are chosen using a comparison method and not
controlled by the researchers. The experimental group to which the treatment or condition is
applied is not picked at random, but rather matched or compared to another group that you, the
researcher, think to have the same characteristics similar to the experimental group undergoing
therapy Quasi-experimental research fails to qualify as a genuine experimental study since it uses
the researcher's influence in sampling or subject selection research. As a result, discoveries or
findings originating from this type of experimental research can be questioned.

9. What is the primary factor in determining whether a research is true experimental or quasi-
experimental?

To determine whether a research is true experimental or quasi experimental, the true experimental
research absolutely uses random selection and controlled by the researchers while the quasi
experimental is no randomization and it is not controlled by the researchers.

10. What are the implications of declaring what is true by means of quasi-experimental research?

11. Which is better between the two types of experimental research? Justify your choice.

The quasi because it has standard to follow and it will be easier for us to do. It has the time-series
which give us the series of pre-test and post-test.

Activity TASK 1: Flow Chart Directions: Create a flow chart showing the sequential occurrence of the
research stages in each type of quasi-experimental research.

Reflection: Write a short essay about things you learned the most and the least through the topics dealt
with in this lesson. Give your essay an interesting title.

Question
1.What are the basic types of variables?
The Independent and Dependent variable.
2.What are the differences of independent and dependent variable?
The difference between the two is the independent is the causes and dependent is the effect. Independent
variable causes change in another variable and usually manipulated in an experiment while the dependent
variable is a variable that change because of another variable and affected by the manipulation of the
independent variable and variables that are monitored in an experimental.
3.How is extraneous variable different from confounding variable?
Because the extraneous is controlled by yourself, affect some variable and could affect the result of the
experiment and if extraneous variable impact the result it’s the confounding variable.
Activity
Nature of Inquiry and Research TASK 1 Instructions:
• Think of 5 research titles;
• identify the dependent and independent variables in the research title; and
• Construct a brief explanation to justify your answer
