SECTION 4 - LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE

CLUTCH CALIBRATION 24 x 24 gearbox

(DUAL COMMAND (2 SPEED POWER
SHIFT))
1
Do the setting as described below.

ATTENTION
Park the tractor on level ground in an obstacle-free
area and apply the handbrake. For greater safety,
put chocks under the front and rear wheels.

1. During the setting procedure, if a two-digit

88
number starting with the letter “U” is displayed, it
is a standard error code. Before doing the
calibration it is necessary to remedy the trouble.

NOTE: The list of error codes is shown on

page 4-64.

2. Enter this mode pressing and holding both

the HI and LO switches (1 and 2) while starting
the engine (shortcut). The display of the cluster
appears as follows:

3. The central instrument display (1) fig. 90 will

briefly show “CAL” followed, after 2 seconds, by
the oil temperature (in degrees Celsius).

4. Select the 3rd range (fast) and 1st gear. 89

5. Turn off the air-conditioner, where applicable.

6. Set engine speed to 1300 +/- 50 rpm. Engine

speed must be stable, with no noticeable hunting
or surging. If necessary, change the throttle
setting slightly to achieve a stable engine rpm.

7. Check that the handbrake is on. Release the

clutch pedal.

8. Place the shuttle lever in forward (NOT IN

NEUTRAL or REVERSE).

SECTION 4 - LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE

NOTE: THE SETTING IS ONLY POSSIBLE WITH

THE OPERATOR SITTING IN THE DRIVING SEAT.
9. Press and release the HI or LO button, the
display (1) will show the letter identifying the
clutch in the setting phase:
A
10. When the display shows the letter corresponding
to the clutch being calibrated, press the LO gear
automatic shift button.
11. In this phase the calibration phase begins and
the display (1) shows a numerical value in mA A
that progressively increases. When the
numerical progression stops, the value of the
calibration current blinks:
91
A 123

12. Release the LO gear automatic shift button.

The display will now show the next clutch to be
calibrated, for example:
b
13. Repeat the steps from 2 to 9 for each clutch
(A,B,C,D) to complete the calibration.

14. Turn OFF the key-start to store the calibration.

Transmission output rpm, clutch pedal position,
shuttle lever position, and gear/range lever position
are constantly monitored. Calibration cannot A123
proceed unless the tractor is stopped, shuttle lever
in gear, gear and range levers not in neutral, and the
clutch pedal is up. If while in calibration an
anomalous condition is detected it is shown on the
92
display with its error code via the alarm lamp, if the
error is related to the calibration, then its `U' code is
displayed on the LCD (1). See the list of related
codes on the next page.

LIST OF ERROR CODES “U” ELECTROHYDRAULIC TRANSMISSIONS

U CODE DESCRIPTION
19 Oil temperature below 50 °F (10 °C), calibration not allowed.
20 Incorrect sequence, cycle shuttle lever and clutch pedal.
21 Engine RPM too low (<= 1200 rpm).
22 Engine rpm too high (>= 1400 rpm).
23 Shuttle gear in neutral.
24 Incorrect range selected.
25 Gear selected in neutral.
26 Clutch pedal depressed.
31 Tractor moving.
33 Handbrake OFF.
34 Operator not properly seated in driving seat.
36 Calibration current too high.
37 Calibration current too low.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
If the oil temperature is below 68 °F (20 °C) or above 212 °F (100 °C) the display will show “CL or CH”.

- CL COLD OIL WARNING, generated when the oil temperature is below 68 °F (20 °C)
- CH HOT OIL WARNING, generated when the oil temperature is above 212 °F (100 °C)

NOTE: For optimal clutch calibration it is recommended to take the oil up to a working temperature of 176 °F
(80 °C). It is anyhow possible to do the calibration even if “CL or CH” is displayed, by pressing the “HI - LO”
buttons for 24x24 transmissions, or “h - m” for 12x12 transmissions.
