1. Abstract:
The IoT is the latest advancement in network and AI system which is a mesh of all type
of sensors, services and devices to make complex tasks automated and easy for genral
consumers by making easy avaibaility of information. Sensors and devices which gather
information from other connected sensors and devices characterised vast range of
information and communication between internet and related sensors along with
connected devices have decrease rate of power usage, are one of the most important ideas
in IoT. This work deals with general layout of different realted tasks in smart farming
such as percentage of water in soil, the temperature of soil, its moisture content etc. The
goal of this project is to increase the rate of production as well as to decrease the use of
labor force along with energy consumption. Agriculture is the backbone of most village
areas and most villages in the majority of countries, which uses this incentive.
Furthermore, farming is mainly used to earn money and serve as a backbone in many
countires economy. By considering these kind of uses the farm is split into areas; the
suggested system uses wireless sensor networks and the internet of things to monitor soil
moisture, humidity, and temperature in the various regions and provides a report to the
end user. A 10-day weather forecast is included in the report as part of the data. We can
calculate different type of information and the farmer will be able to arrange farm
cultivation, harvesting, irrigation, and fertilisation more efficiently.
Smart farming, which is based on IoT technology, allows growers and farmers to
decrease waste and increase production in a variety of ways, from the amount of fertiliser
used to the number of trips made by farm vehicles, as well as the effective use of
resources like water and power. IoT smart farming solutions are a system that uses
sensors to monitor the agricultural field and automate the irrigation system (light,
humidity, temperature, soil moisture, crop health, and so on). Farmers can keep an eye on
their fields from anywhere. They can also choose between manual and automated
solutions for taking appropriate data-driven actions. If the soil moisture level drops, for
example, the farmer can use sensors to initiate irrigation. When compared to traditional
farming, smart farming is significantly more efficient. The use of these type of strategies
will help in ease of farming with rapid increase in food growth rate.
2. Objectives:
The use of sensors and latest advancements in smart farming practises and Internet of
Things technologies is utilised in revolutionizing smart farming and agriculture industry
is an exciting topic of ongoing study. The use of digital SMEs and connected meshes in
farming industry has made possible to develop latest technologies at a fast pace.
The following is a list of the work's contributions:
 The architecture and use of different type of sensors and devices (smart farming
monitoring system) based on the three-layer architecture of IoT.
 The suggested SFMS prototype is a locally produced, low-cost, and simple-to-
install solution based on locally accessible hardware and resources. It has the
potential to change traditional onion farming into more productive and convenient
smart farming techniques, according to us. This innovative technology would
assist farmers in detecting and identifying the bolting phenomena early on, as well
as taking preventative measures to prevent bolting.
 The real-world use of the Iot and smart sensors including its installation in both an
open and a greenhouse setting to track onion crops. In the environment, the
proportion of onion bolting was recorded at 16.7% based on data from the
sensors. In confined environment, The example of onion bolting helps in
understanding that The onion crop was given ideal temperature, humidity, and
photoperiod in a confined setting. As a consequence, the proportion of onions
bolting has been decreased from sixteen to three, and the overall output of the
onion crop has grown as a result.

3. General overview of the proposed plan:

I. In part B, we will investigate the use of smart sensors in agriculture technologies
